Today Reminder – 03 May 2017

A reminder for today
So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong. (Hebrews 12:12-13)

When Jesus was being tempted by Satan, He answered, “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). We are told in Ephesians 6:17 to “take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Jesus demonstrated we need the actual recorded words of God to overcome Satan’s attacks.

To be a Christian to me means that you must accept the Word of God. First, you accept Jesus as your saviour and then you accept the Word of God, the Bible, as your manual to Christianity. There is power in God’s Word and to arm ourselves with it, we make us less vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy. God’s word is one of His ways to communicate to us and to guide us.

Our strength is in the Lord, but in His Word also. Therefore, if we want to take a new grip on life and strengthen our weak knees so that we can stand again, we need to take His Word and make it part of our daily lives. The Word will help us to mark a straight path so that when we are weak we will not fall.

Jesus said if you seek you shall find and I seek Him and so my journey starts with His Word. The Word of God is infallible. There is no error in God's Word. The law of the Lord is perfect concerning our soul. The testimony of the Lord is not only infallible it is inerrant. Proverbs 30:5-6, "Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar." The purity of His words does not need anything added to it. God warns us not to misrepresent His scripture.

The Word of God will accomplish what it promises. If God told you something will happen, and you wait, it will happen. In Isaiah 55:11 it says, "So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." God sent His word to accomplish His perfect will in our lives. If God makes a promise to you He will fulfill it in His own time. There are so many promises given to us in the Bible. These promises reassure us and bring comfort to our lives in our times of trial. I challenge you to take time to study the Word of God. The Lord will show you wonderful things that will change your life.

Lord, hear our hearts and open our eyes to the things unseen. Open your Word to us and let us desire more time with you. Let us arm ourselves with your Word and stand firm on your foundation. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
