A reminder for
today
If you claim to
be religious but don't control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your
religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the
Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to
let the world corrupt you. (James 1:26-27)
It is Friday and what a week. This week has been one of
those that I do not want to remember. We are moving our product into a new
environment and it is a little stressful. I must admit it keeps me awake at
night. I love the song ”Oceans” from Hillsong and in the midst of our storms it
so important that we remember “Your grace
abounds in deepest waters, Your sovereign hand Will be my guide, Where feet may
fail and fear surrounds me, You've never failed and You won't start now”
What is religion other than how we live. It is the faith
that we have and the love we have for other. I love these verses in James 1
where he says that we must control our tongues. It is easy to fix something you
broke, but words cannot be reversed. Words can cut deeper than any sword and
the scars of words can take a long time to heal. There is power in what we say
and what we pray. If you speak life over other they will prosper. Negative thoughts
impact us and the people around us. So, James reminds us that we must be pure
and genuine, caring for other and refusing to let this world corrupt us. It is unbelievable
how people are corrupted by their worldly desires.
Therefore, come with me today and through this weekend as we
celebrate our mothers on mother’s day, but mostly let us celebrate the grace of
God and live genuine religious lives. Let our lives impact on our communities
and let us bring hope and a positive vibe wherever we go. Jesus lives and in
Him we have life. Now that is reason to be joyful.
Lord, please place a guard in front of our mouths so that we
will only speak what is positive and uplifting to other. Let us be pure in our
religion and save us from the corruption of this world so that we will desire
you and more of you. In Jesus name.
Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
