A reminder for
today
For jealousy and
selfishness are not God's kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual,
and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there
you will find disorder and evil of every kind. (James 3:15-16)
When God asked Solomon what he wanted, Solomon chose wisdom.
God was so pleased with Solomon’s choice that He gave him wealth and fame and
no other king will ever be compared to him. Wisdom is extremely important to
God and how we use it towards other. Our wisdom should not be founded from
earthly people, but we must ask God for His kind of wisdom.
Godly wisdom will help us to make the right choices, but
mostly it will help us in our relationships with other. Jealousy and
selfishness is not from God, in fact it is some of the worst characteristics we
can ever display. It kills our relationship with God and it creates disorder in
our lives, because our greed will destroy us.
But the wisdom from
above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and
willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favouritism
and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of
peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. (Verse 17 – 18)
Therefore, we must ask God for wisdom above all else so that
we can live a life where we show mercy and do good deeds. We must show no favouritism
and we must always be sincere. Sometimes it is best to yield instead of arguing
and to take a moment and listen. Sometimes we must just take our “self” out of
the equation and allow God to enter. When God becomes our guide and source of
wisdom we will see things differently. It is about Him and the glory we give
Him. A loving ear and a gentle voice can open doors that was shut for ages. Let
God be your wisdom giver and listen to His voice in all your challenges today.
Lord, we pray that you give us wisdom as you gave it to
Solomon so that we can bring glory to your name when we face our challenges. In
Jesus name.
Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
