A reminder for
today
God the Father
knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result,
you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May
God give you more and more grace and peace. (1 Peter 1:2)
I always think that a weekend is just too short. I do not
know about you, but I could do with one more weekend day. We had an awesome
sermon yesterday and one of the things our Pastor said is that there is four
historical references that refer to Julius Caesar, but there is over four
thousand historical documents that refers to Jesus Christ. Awesome, isn’t it?
Who are we worshipping? We are worshipping an awesome and amazing God.
Peter writes here that God chose you long ago. That is so
important, because He knew you would exist long before anyone else did. So long
ago that He died for you before you were born so that you can have life without
the concerns of death. And because you follow His voice and obey Him you are
cleansed from your sin by His blood. In this we not only have forgiveness, but
we have peace given to us by grace.
I cannot begin to tell you how special you are and God
especially loves you. He looks down on you and He is so proud of you. You have
come so far already. He looks and He sees the wonderful person you have become
and He is excited, because He knows where you are headed. He knows how much
more awaits you and how much more you will grow in your faith. He sees the
person you will be and He is so happy that you have given your heart to Him. He
holds your precious heart safely in His hands like a proud father. He sees the
possibilities and He knows every inch of you. And you are perfect in every way.
Walk with Him into this Monday and experience the glory of
His presence and the wonder of His love. Look at yourself and know that you are
so wonderfully and beautifully made. You are amazing.
Lord, we thank you that you chose us and we are so grateful
for your love and grace. Even when oceans rise we will keep our eyes focussed
on you. Be our guide through this day and do not allow the enemy to steal our
joy, but let us find our joy in you with every breath we take. Let us rest in
your embrace and stand fearless in our storms. In Jesus name.
Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
