A reminder for
today
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the
victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57)
I am probably the one who is the most happiest it is Friday.
Although I will probably work all weekend I am just glad we get a small break.
This week has been hectic, and I am so looking forward to December so that I
can have a proper break. How weird is this week? In the beginning of the week it
was so hot and on Wednesday it rained and yesterday and today it is cold, I
mean quite cold. In all my years I have never seen this weird type of weather
here in Pretoria. We are extremely grateful for the rain and I must say I would
love it if it just rained for a few days on end.
This time of the year is probably the most challenging time
just before Christmas. Everything is coming to an end as the year reaches its
final stage. It can be a happy and joyous time, but it can also be a
challenging and difficult time. Some will be with family and friends and some
will be on holiday and some might be alone.
No matter the challenges or the situation we may face, the
Lord will give us victory. Now, you might say that it is easy to say but hard
to do. Let us look at victory in Jesus Christ for a moment. The obvious is that
Jesus died on that cross and was raised back to life and in that victory, He
took away all our sin. That is not all when we look at Jesus victory in our
lives.
The fact that forgiveness clears the burden of sin also
clears the hold of the enemy on our lives. This opens a new path where we can
be who God intended us to be and that is forgiven and renewed by His mercy and
grace. Now you realise that there is nothing that condemns you anymore and
nothing that can be used against you by the enemy. There is no more guilt and
no more blame that can hinder your growth and your faith. You become a
righteous being and your needs and desires changes from earthly to heavenly. Suddenly
life nor death hold no more value in you and your goal becomes a heavenly and
eternal goal that sets you apart from the rest.
Let me leave you with one last thought on victory. No matter
your circumstance, your burdens, your past, your pain or your loss, Jesus knows
it all and He knows exactly what you are going through. He will not let you be
broken by your battles nor will He not give you the tools to overcome them. He is
and was and is forever and this means that He is in all that you face, and He
is in you holding, helping and guiding you. Let Him be who He is and let Him
show you the way.
Do not allow the lies of the enemy to confuse you, but instead
let the truth of Jesus uplift you. Let us celebrate Him and His love in this
season and let us show Him despite our battles, because the minute He takes
over is the minute we see victory.
Lord, we give you our lives, our burdens and our challenges
and we ask that you enter into our lives and hold us together and strengthen us
so that we will overcome and succeed for your glory. Give us victory over our
battles. In Jesus name.
Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
