A reminder for
today
And [I pray] that the
eyes of your heart [the very centre and core of your being] may be enlightened
[flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine
guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of
His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people), and [so
that you will begin to know] what the immeasurable and unlimited and
surpassing greatness of His [active, spiritual] power is in us who believe. (Ephesians 1:18-19)
Yesterday my body just had enough. I was so tired after our
leg workout and after my cardio session I was exhausted. It doesn’t help if you
did not sleep well either and finally it all just hits you like waves. It just
hits you one after the other. At a point you just feel you need power and
instead of getting better the energy is just not there.
In our spiritual battles we get to the same point where the
waves just keep coming and you feel the power leaving your body as the battles
continues. We get tired from the challenges that comes up on our journey as the
enemy tries anything to get to us. Over and above all that you must live a holy
and righteous life and it all just starts to seem impossible at a stage.
This is when we get to the point where we realise the
importance of a close relationship with our Lord. So that we may be enlightened
and filled by the power of His Holy Spirit and cherish the hope and have a
constant expectation for the riches of His inheritance. With this we may begin
to know the greatness of His power so that we will be renewed in our battles
and by His active and spiritual power that we may continue the battle and not
give up.
You may feel powerless in some days but it when we are at
our weakest that we show His power the best. It is when we have nothing left
that we know all that we do is by His mercy and His grace and by His power. So that
when we stand up in this battle we will understand the extent of who God is and
that with Him we can do anything.
My prayer for you today is simple. I pray that the power of
our Lord will fill you and renew you so that you will stand up despite your
exhaustion and pain and defeat the enemy by withstanding his attempts to
mislead you and bringing the truth of our Lord by the way you live. In Jesus
name.
