A reminder for
today
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the
LORD. For as the heavens are
higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts
than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9)
(I enjoyed writing the
story of John and Lizzy that I decided to add a little more to their life. Enjoy.)
They looked at him as if he was crazy. Who does he think he is?
He has not even been here for a month and now he wants to change the way they
do business. He must be out of his mind. The sales team’s facial expressions gave
John chills. He has never seen a group of people so unimpressed in his life. Global
sales have been doing fine but for the last five years their sales seem to
stagnate. It does not show when you look at it as a whole but John picked it up
and he was concerned that it will create a downward spiral in the years to
come.
He was so excited when he walked into his new job and into
his new office. He had so many dreams and ideas. He loved to sell, and he loved
to make money, but here it seemed as if they did not care about that. They just
did what they did every day, and all is well. John as a determined go getter and
it frustrated him that they just rejected his plan to increase sales and
revenue. Some of these sales people has been here for years. John though that
they are threatened by him. As a younger and a eager person.
He looked like a child who lost his toys when she looked at
him at the dinner table. Their wedding was still fresh in her mind and her dress
still hangs in the room. She loved it and she loves John but tonight there was
a different John in the house. A very sad and disappointed John sat and scraped
through his plate as if he was looking for something. She asked what was bothering
him and he told her about his exciting day that ended in a disaster.
Lizzy looked at him with those clear blue eyes. It sometimes
felt as if she could see all the way into his heart. He was disappointed, and
he did not know what to do. She got up and knelt beside him. She took his hands
into her hands and she started to pray softly. She prayed that the Lord will
give him wisdom and guidance into what was needed and that He showed John the
right way.
He woke up earlier than before and walked into the office
determined. He was going to the board with his idea. The result was that John’s
idea was forced onto the sales team. The board loved it and said that the company
should implement it immediately. The first month was fine. The second month was
ok, but then things changed. Suddenly sales plummeted, and the revenue dropped
dramatically. John was called in and questioned and they made it clear that
this must change.
He was late. He has never been late before for their weekly
date. When John walked into the restaurant he looked as if he was on drugs. He was
in terrible shape. She got up and asked for the bill and took him home. He slept
but she could hear in his breathing that something was wrong. It was shortly
after midnight when she woke with a fright. John was not breathing!
To be continued….
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
