A reminder for
today
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee;
yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my
righteousness. (Isaiah 41:10)
She must have walked over a mile by now in that waiting
room. Lizzy will sit, stand, pray and walk up and down for what felt like
hours. John was rushed in for an emergency procedure. The amazing guy from the
ambulance got his heart beating again as they rushed to the hospital. It was
beating but it was still weak as the ambulance pulled into the emergency area.
They said nothing and since then Lizzy was pacing up and down like a bird in a
cage.
What was wrong? She felt a little lost and broken when
Pastor Paul walked in. She phoned him just after the ambulance. He comforted her,
and they prayed together. Lizzy was sleeping on the bench as the doctor walked
in. She was exhausted and fell asleep while she was listening to the comforting
voice of Pastore Paul reading from Isaiah.
She jumped up when the doctor spoke. He looked worried and
it did not help her concerns. John had cancer and the large amount of stress at
worked caused a cardiac arrest which was not common, but it happens in this
case of Leukemia. Lizzy felt a little light headed and she had to sit. It felt
as if the world fell on her shoulders and she was crushed by the weight of it. Tears
rolled down her face. She did not know what to say. Pastor Paul asked all the
questions, because this in not the first time he had to deal with the enemy’s
attacks through the dreaded cancer everyone fears.
They walked into John’s room. He was still heavily sedated. Lizzy
was crying and shaking as Pastor Paul tried to comfort her. He turned her around
and said something that broke the grip of the enemy and the fear that now burdened
her. He said that God gave him Isaiah 41 in a dream he had just before she called,
and, in his dream, he saw John winning a marathon. Lizzy knew immediately that
the marathon referred to John’s work.
But how is he going to win this marathon with cancer and
what is God’s plan with this. Lizzy knew God always had a plan, but she also
knew that He will reveal that in His time. She suddenly felt calm and she could
feel the Holy Spirit renewing her strength. She knew why, because she will have
to be strong for John and help him through this. She knew that with her God she
could do anything and that He can change any situation and turn it around for His
glory.
There is no one like her God.
To be continued…
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
