A reminder for
today
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in
one point, he is guilty of all. (James
2:10)
It is the first of August and believe it or not we are well
on our way past the middle of the year. Now the year is going to run past us
and before we know it we will be in December again. I read James 2 again today
and I must admit I am still far from getting it right. James says if you break
one of the commandments in the law of God, you broke them all. Look at verses
11 – 13: For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now
if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of
the law. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of
liberty. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy;
and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
James says that God will judge without mercy just as we
showed no mercy in our judgements. The fact remains that if your break one law,
you are a transgressor of the law of God. now, reading that made me very quiet
for a moment, because we think we made a small mistake, but in essence we broke
the entire law and we will fall under that judgement. I must say that it is
here where I suddenly became extremely grateful for Jesus and what He did for
me.
It is imperative that we understand the deed in essence and
the result of the cross. We must also understand the importance of sharing that
message for the reward is great and I just can’t see why anyone would not chose
this path. Even if the path of righteousness is hard and difficult it remains
the only path that leads to redemption and salvation. There is no other way, except
through Jesus Christ and looking back at my verse I have no idea how anyone can
make it without Jesus.
Paul writes in Romans 3 - For all have sinned, and come
short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the
redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Therefore, we can say that none of us is going to make it
without the grace of God and the gift we have in Jesus Christ. Share this with
everyone and by this we create hope and purpose and light.
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
