Today Reminder – 14 July 2015 (Day 5 – Forward)

A reminder for today
Lord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health. You restore my health and allow me to live! (Isaiah 38:16)

How can you move forward if you continue to take two steps back? I have often heard this and isn’t it funny how we love to dwell on things. We all want to move on and past our troubles but we also like to get stuck in our misery as we fall back and allow more pain to control us.

God did not design us to fail. He made us in His image to reflect His majesty. We are in the proses of moving forward and this means that we should place all our troubles and burdens on Him and trust Him. I love this: “Faith is like a muscle, if you want to improve it, you need to exercise it”.

We travel though difficult and hard times in our journey to better us. God designed our path to prepare us for what lies ahead. He will restore us and He will never take us through a part in our life that we are unable to succeed in.

In my path ahead lies the impossible. But I will defeat this with His grace and power, because He is in me and I am in Him. He is my all and all around me. He is the very reason I will not give up.

So today we take two steps forward.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder – 13 July 2015 (Day 4 – Forward)

A reminder for today
That night the angel of the LORD went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere. (Isaiah 37:36)

How are you my dear friend? I do hope you are well and that your storms are quiet for a while. I missed writing to you, but I did enjoy my time away. We were blessed to visit the “Kruger National Park” here in South Africa. It is a beautiful place where nature is still much as God intended it. I was again amazed at God’s wonder and how He so wonderfully takes care of each animal, big and small. I watched the sun rise and set each day over the lush and bountiful “bushveld” and I was in awe of God’s majesty.

Sometimes life can deal us so much heartache and pain that we miss the little things. We look past the blessing we have of waking up each day. We forget that we are healthy by His grace. We forget the cross in the midst of our own battles. We forget the miracles that happen around us each day in our wonderfully created bodies. We forget Jesus and how He lived a simple life with a massive impact. We forget that the little things can have huge ripple effects in the days to come.

I read this verse and I knew in that moment what I wanted to say to you today.

Today I want to remind you that our God is a great God. He is greater than all our imaginations can comprehend. He is now, He was and He is forever. If He can send one angel to destroy the Assyrian camp, imagine what He can do through us with the Holy Spirit that lives in us. Because He lives I can face tomorrow. Because He lives I can stand up and fight again. I am alive because He lives. I am undefeatable because He lives.

Let us stand up and move forward for yesterday is gone and tomorrow is unknown, but now we can.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder – 03 July 2015 (Day 3 – Forward)

A reminder for today
Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers and singing and joy! The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon, as lovely as Mount Carmel or the plain of Sharon. There the LORD will display his glory, the splendour of our God. (Isaiah 35:2)

My dear friend, today I want to renew your hope. In our journey we often find ourselves in desert land. Desert land to me is when you are in a place of hopelessness. There is no water in a desert and it is filled with miles and miles of sand that is blown against you by an ever present wind. The sun scorches down and burns your face as you struggle to climb one dune after the next leaving you exhausted and thirsty.

Now our desert land that we cross in our life journey is a place where our challenges is like those dunes, they seem endless and we are constantly thirsty with a need to break out of this. This is often combined by a feeling of hopelessness where we would rather give up than carry on.

Today I want to paint you the image that God wants you to see in your desert. He wants you to see a desert filled with flowers and green like a forest next to a river. There is joy and singing as people rejoice in what was once a dry and empty place. This is where the Lord will display His glory. This is where the Lord will display His splendour.

Do not allow the enemy to distort your image of how God sees our deserts. The enemy want us to me miserable and sad. The enemy hates happy people and happy people are God’s people. So let us stand up and sing with joy for our deserts are now a green and beautiful forest filled with hope and possibilities.

With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands, and encourage those who have weak knees. Say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you." (Verse 3 and 4)

One last thing my friend, I am taking a few days of and will not write to you next week. But I will be back after my week and I trust that my journey will reveal more of God’s wonder so that I can write to you about His love and grace. I enjoy our time together therefore I will shall write to you as soon as I return for we are one in Jesus Christ, our Lord and saviour.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 02 July 2015 (Day 2 – Forward)

A reminder for today
But the LORD says: "Now I will stand up. Now I will show my power and might. (Isaiah 33:10)

We travel on our journey and we struggle through all the difficult paths that lie on this journey. Every struggle intended to break us and destroy will only bring us closer to God. When our battles seem impossible and our destiny a mere glimmer in the distance, then we need to seek God and we need to spend our time with Him.

As we move forward this month I can feel the Lord saying that now He will stand up with us and now He will show His power and might in our faith and in our commitment to Him. It is said that love overcomes all, and this my friend is the basis of our faith. In love God gave His only son, Jesus Christ, do take our sins away from us. It is this love that God sets in our hearts as we love each other. It is the very antidote to all the storms the enemy can ever bring on us. God is love and with love we will overcome all, because love destroys hate and anger and jealousy and love forgives and forgets.

Now stand up my friend and let us live to show God’s glory through our love for other. Let is move past our history and focus on today, because today we live.

The LORD will be our Mighty One. He will be like a wide river of protection that no enemy can cross, that no enemy ship can sail upon (verse 21)

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 01 July 2015 (Day 1 – Forward)

A reminder for today
Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are. (1 Peter 5:9)

It is July and we are in the middle of winter here in South Africa. This month we are moving forward and we are leaving the past behind us. What is done is done and we cannot change that, but we can change what we do today and tomorrow. We can change how we see and how we feel and we can change our view point. Change starts within and if we need to make things better we must start with ourselves.

To take our first step forward we must begin by letting go of the issues that keep us from taking our first step towards tomorrow. This is only possible with Jesus as our guide, because in Him lies our salvation and our freedom. We need to forgive and forget and we need to accept and understand. Every person makes mistakes and every person all over this world faces struggles on a daily basis.

Our step forward must be set in the correct direction and this is with hearts towards Jesus. With Him we can stand firm against the enemy who will surely try and break your speed.

So today we break all the negativity that binds us and we accept all that is Jesus so that we can be more in every moment. A life filled with Him is a life build to succeed. He knows what we are going through and He knows what we are facing. He sees our heartache and He feels our pain. If He gave His life for us, He will surely never forsake us.

To move forward we need to take a step and we need to walk.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus
