 A reminder for today

For the Scriptures tell us, "Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith."
When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners. (Romans 4:3-5)

I hope you had a good weekend, my friend. We had the privilege to visit my parents on their farm and the boys loved it there. They enjoy the great outdoors and the fresh air there just seems to fix all your issues. It is great to go home and spend time with family. We are all working through life with all its challenges and obstacles and so we need friends and family to help us stand and keep on going despite our storms.

Paul writes about being righteous and so many believe that with good deeds we can buy righteousness and earn our pass to heaven. God makes it clear that we can never be counted as righteous because of what we did. It can only be done by faith. That is why Jesus said that He is the only way and there is no other way to God. 

So today we are going to expand our faith and increase the intensity of how we have faith. We need to renew our faith by realigning ourselves with God and with His Word. We need to let go of all that has a hold on our lives and give ourselves completely to God. Our faith is in Jesus Christ that gave His life so that we will be sin free. He is the only way that we need and therefore we believe with all our hearts. We see with all our hearts and we live with all our hearts. When your heart is in the right place the enemy can never destroy you. So come as we give our hearts to the Lord and live with new fresh faith like air that fills our bodies.

Lord, we renew our faith and we ask that you restore it and strengthen our faith as we give our hearts to you. Lord we love you with all hearts and all our minds. In Jesus name.

Today Reminder – 3 June 2016

 A reminder for today

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. (Romans 3:22-24)

The weight of sin lies heavily on so many people and it can be devastating when your inner conflict starts to bring guilt and sorrow into the story. Temptation is a huge shareholder in so many people’s lives and it is one of the enemy’s most favourite attacks. He will make you believe that you are not in the wrong until you fall and then comes the guilt attacks. 

My dear friend. We are free. We are free from guilt and we are free from temptation, because in us lives an almighty God and with Him there is no boundaries to our abilities and He will never allow a challenge into your life that is too heavy for you. You know we are one’s that needs to live by faith, but you have no idea how much faith God has in us to trust us that we will make the right choice and chose live over death. 

So today I want to leave you with tease words:

Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.

Today Reminder – 2 June 2016

 A reminder for today

Don't you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can't you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? (Romans 2:4)

It is amazing how tolerant and kind God really is. We are born into this world of sin with condemnation as our companion and then God shows us so mush compassion that we actually become arrogant in our sin. You see it is as if we take His love for granted and we rebel against His guidance. We follow our own heads and we stumble and fall all the time but out of stubbornness we carry on.

Today I want you to take a moment and think about the love and compassion God has shown you in your life. I want you to think about your talents and the gifts God bestowed upon you and I want you to think what will you be when God is not there. As I sit here playing back through my life I am again in awe of this majestic and wonderful God that we worship. I have walked the darkest paths and followed the worst directions ever and yet God never abandoned me. He remained by my side and kept me up so that I will not stay down when the enemy has destroyed my determination. We are blessed and we should be thankful for what we have. Instead of complaining and making excuses we should get up and live. Life is much too short to dwell in our disappointments. 

Lord I thank you for all you have done for us and I give my life as your servant so that I can proclaim your good news and show you to the world. In Jesus name.
