How are
you, my friend? I took a day off yesterday so that is why there were no posts
yesterday. This year has had its fair share of trials and tribulations, and I just
needed a break from all the noise. It was a good day. I had the privilege to spend
time with my friends and just to enjoy their company is always good for my soul.
We ended the day watching the new Spiderman movie and yes, I am a fan. It was
really good and I must admit I love to just let something else fill my mind
other than work, battles and the stuff that still continues as I fight for my
little girl. It is days like these that I just miss my kids and look forward to
a day when this is all finished and I can just have a normal day with everyone I
love so much. So, yes today was close.
I love this
verse in Romans 5, “Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s
sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord
has done for us”. I guess when life gets hard and I make mistakes and I get upset
and I just want to go to war with all the crap that we face each day, this verse
just brings that peace that only Jesus can give.
We have been made right by faith. Not by good works, or
sinless lives, or being perfect, or flawless, or successful, or without mistakes
– no – by faith. By what Jesus did on the cross. Not by might or by power, but
by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I am everything but perfect and I make more mistakes than
anyone, but I live by faith. I live by the Words of my Father, and I live by
His grace. Do I get it right? Nope, but I know how to repent, and I know how to
be grateful, and I know how to turn back to my Lord and to seek Him. I know
that I cannot do this life thing on my own and I know that even though God
feels distant some days, He never is.
I know that
I need to be humble and I need to follow His voice and I know that I must work
to keep my relationship with my Father always my priority. Through guilt and
through shame and through anger and through loss and through pain and through
all the lies. Through it all I consistently seek my Lord, and I know that I can
do nothing without Him. Thus, I seek Him even more.
In Psalm
10:12 we read, “Arise, O LORD! O God, lift up Your hand! Do not forget
the humble”.
Sometimes we just need to take a moment and rest. We just
need to step back and take a break. Let God renew you and restore you and
realign you. Just as Spiderman realised that he cannot win his fight on his own
and sometimes, he needs to just let someone in and share his burden, so is it important
that we do not stand alone and that we spend time with like minded people. People
who also seek God and people that will help us or maybe just listen and share
our burden. Even though they cannot take it from us, because it remains our
battle, at least they can listen and encourage us. That is why I do not have
many close friends, but the few I have I know will always be there when I need
them and I know that they are the ones who always pray for me, just as they are
in my prayers. These people are equally important in my life as my prayer time
in the morning. The difference being that God is always first.
So as Paul
loving reminds us in Romans 5, “We can rejoice, too, when we run into
problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And
endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our
confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For
we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to
fill our hearts with his love”.
So, do not worry my friend. God is always with you and He
goes before you. He only wants the best for you and in the end, you will see what
increasingly abundantly truly means.
Have an awesome day.
