Today Reminder – 20 April 2017

A reminder for today
Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true. Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God's promises because of their faith and endurance. (Hebrews 6:11-12)

What do you hope for? Hope can be such a small word, but it can have massive implications. Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen. To trust that something will happen. Everywhere in this world people face different challenges and each one goes through the turmoil of loss and a desperate need for hope. In Matthew 12 God says that Jesus’s name will be the hope of all the world. We live in a dark world that desperately needs light. The birth of Jesus Christ, who is God’s salvation, brought the light that offers hope to a world of despair.

In order to hope in Christ, first we must recognize Jesus for who He is: God’s Christ, the only way of salvation. The most crucial question in life for each person to answer is the one Jesus asked His disciples: “But who do you say that I am?” Peter gave the correct answer to Jesus’ question: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus affirmed that answer, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven”

Whether you’re suffering from a difficult disease or grieving the loss of a loved one or facing overwhelming trials of some other nature, you can have hope if you will trust Jesus Christ as God’s salvation for you. He has won the victory. Those who hope in Him will not be disappointed!

In the end our greatest desire, must be Jesus and Him alone. In Him, we find hope and love which we can in turn give to other.  Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God's promises because of their faith and endurance.

Lord, you are all I want. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 19 April 2017

A reminder for today
So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don't need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. (Hebrews 6:1)

These public holidays and shorter weeks are confusing. Today is Wednesday, yet you think it is Tuesday and you wish it were Friday. We are hard to please, I know. In addition, in a weeks’ time we have yet another long weekend with two more public holidays. It is tough here in South Africa – hee hee. Well it is a beautiful day and with a slight chill in the mornings we can feel winter is finally on its way. Being a Christian in not an easy task and with constant attacks from the enemy, we are daily targets. Today I was reading trough Hebrews 5 and 6 and Paul writes here that he does not want to start all over again with them, they need to grow in their relationship with God. He compares it to a baby drinking milk and one moving on to solid food. He says that they continue to fall back and they do not move on to solid food in their spiritual growth.

It happens too many. We confess and we accept Jesus as our Lord, yet we remain caught up in the world and its desires that we do not move on. We kind off stagnate in our relationship with God and we allow the world to take the place of our time with God. Therefore, what happens, we sin again, we fall back, and then we need to repent again. For some the grace of God has become an excuse to sin, because they can just repent again. Funny that they miss the part where God says clearly that He looks at the heart and not the deed. It is silly to live like that and for me a waste of time. You are almost like a mellow Christian. When you start a job, you grow in that job and you want to get an increase and later a promotion. It is natural human desire to grow, yet when it comes to God, we do not.

The most important thing in life should be your relationship with God and your desire to grow in that relationship and to grow as a believer. Therefore, we must put in more effort in our spiritual growth and our knowledge of God by reading the Bible and spending time in prayer. Be part of a church and become involved in the church. These are all steps to a better life and a better life in Jesus.

Now, take time and spend it with Jesus. He desires that time with you, because you are so important to Him. He loves you more than you can ever know, so He longs for time with you. Do not miss this amazing part of life as a Christian.

Lord, we desire more time with you. I pray that you awake in us an uncontrollable desire to spend more time with you. You are our God and King and we need you more than anything else. Fill us with your Spirit and guide our feet towards you. Let us wear your armour and defeat the enemy when he comes. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 18 April 2017

A reminder for today
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. (Romans 10:9-10)

How was your Easter? We had an awesome weekend and I must say it was one of those weekends where I could just feel the presence of the Lord. We took it easy and I tried to rest a little, but the kids kept me busy. Today I feel that I want to stand on the top of our building and just shout out that our God lives. Saturday morning I talked to my gym partner about Jesus and he said that some of his family members are those typical Pharisees. On Sunday, they stand with hands in the air and on Monday, they carry on with their wrong lives of swearing and stepping on other. He mentioned that they have often told him that he will not see heaven.  I listened and I just said that no matter who you are and what you have done, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

You see deeds will not get you to heaven. Yesterday I watched the biography of Warren Buffet. I was so impressed by his generosity and the whole world applauded him for donating 2.8 billion dollars to charity. That is just amazing, but Warren Buffet is an agnostic (a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God). I was stunned to hear that. My first reaction was that someone so intelligent is so stupid. You see you cannot buy you way into heaven and I am sorry to say it but if he does not see that there is overwhelming evidence of God and change his life, he will not see heaven. You know if you have walked with God for so long you find it virtually impossible not to see God. He is everywhere and all around us. He is the creator and if you do not think that something far more intelligent is behind creation then I am afraid you must be a little short sighted.

It is simple. Our God lives. It is clear in the way we are created and the complexity in our DNA. It is in the diversity of nature and how we see and how we are. From a little unborn baby to a full grown adult. All the money in the world means nothing if you do not know Jesus.

So today, let us believe with all our hearts and confess with our mouths. Jesus is Lord.

Lord, you are my God and you are all I need. You are the very reason for my existence and I live my life for you. Let is wear your armour today and show your light to the lost and end the enemy’s grip on them. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
