Today Reminder – 8 June 2017

A reminder for today
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. (1 Peter 5:6)

How are you, my friend? How do we remain positive in a world that is filled with hate and destruction? How do we see God’s hand when all we see is pain and suffering? How do we remain calm when muslim refugees attack woman in Europe? How can we stand by and watch as the money powers of the world dictates what we must do and believe? It is not easy. This morning I said to my gym partner the hardest thing to do is to be a Christian. All we must do is trust Jesus and follow 10 simple rules and still it is at times impossible. Why is this?

You see the enemy is the ultimate liar. He is driving this world into destruction. He does this because you and I are made in God’s image and he hates God. So, he will use anyone and anything to hurt us and drive us into the ground. It is terrible, because we live in this world and all we want is for people to make it to heaven.

Now here is the part that you must take in today. Despite all the hurt and all the hate and all the pain, you must always remember that God is in control. He is the only reality we must focus on and He will destroy all evil. The enemy wants you to lose hope, because Jesus is your hope. He wants you to give up, because then you have lost. Jesus went through the same hate and the same pain. In fact, He went through much worse. Do not let the lies of the enemy confuse you and do not let the media alter your focus. We must continue to humble ourselves before God and continue to trust Him alone. The end is not far and the judgement of evil will be severe. Remain humble under His mighty power and He will lift us up at the right time. This world has no future, but with Jesus we have more than a future. We have eternity. Do not give up and continue to stand strong and be courageous. Jesus is the way and the truth and the life. Do not fear to share this and do not fear the enemy. He is weak. Our God is an awesome God. Just look up at the heavens and see His glory and you will be renewed. You are in my prayers – always.

Lord, open our eyes to your way and let us see your work. Take away our fears and fill us with courage and strength as we unite in you. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 7 June 2017

A reminder for today
Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. (1 Peter 5:2)

I get so upset when I see how this world has become a mecca of lies and deceit and we are forced to believe it. We are frowned upon when we stand up for our faith and we disagree with the norm. Everywhere we look people are indoctrinated by the lies of the enemy and we are pushed aside for who will believe us. When you google “How old is the earth?” you get the answer that the earth is believed to be 4.5 billion years old and whenever you watch a show on TV that is about the earth everyone is in agreement.

Simply put, it came from the Bible. Of course, the Bible doesn’t say explicitly anywhere, “The earth is 6,000 years old.” Good thing it doesn’t; otherwise it would be out of date the following year. But we wouldn’t expect an all-knowing God to make that kind of a mistake.

God gave us something better. In essence, He gave us a “birth certificate.” For example, using a personal birth certificate, a person can calculate how old he is at any point. It is similar with the earth. Genesis 1 says that the earth was created on the first day of creation (Genesis 1:1–5). From there, we can begin to calculate the age of the earth.

Let’s do a rough calculation to show how this works. The age of the earth can be estimated by taking the first five days of creation (from earth’s creation to Adam), then following the genealogies from Adam to Abraham in Genesis 5 and 11, then adding in the time from Abraham to today.
Adam was created on day 6, so there were five days before him. If we add up the dates from Adam to Abraham, we get about 2,000 years, using the Masoretic Hebrew text of Genesis 5 and 11.3 Whether Christian or secular, most scholars would agree that Abraham lived about 2,000 B.C. (4,000 years ago).

So a simple calculation is:
5 days
+ ~2,000 years
+ ~4,000 years
~6,000 years

So, who made man the right one. I know these scientists have all kinds of rock layer calculations that support their predictions. Thinking biblically, we can see that the global flood in Genesis 6–8 would wipe away the concept of millions of years, for this Flood would explain massive amounts of fossil layers. Most Christians fail to realize that a global flood could rip up many of the previous rock layers and redeposit them elsewhere, destroying the previous fragile contents. This would destroy any evidence of alleged millions of years anyway. So, the rock layers can theoretically represent the evidence of either millions of years or a global flood, but not both. Sadly, by about 1840, even most of the Church had accepted the dogmatic claims of the secular geologists and rejected the global flood and the biblical age of the earth.

This is ridiculous and it is not only in the age of the earth that we are forced to accept man’s views. It is taught in our schools. Our society has become an anti-God self-idolizing pool of lies.

We should not stand for this. We should stand for what is right and we should not be afraid to share it. I do not want to stand before God and say I was too afraid to tell the truth. I do not want to see my fellow people end up in hell, because I was too scared to share the truth. I will not allow my children to be misled by the enemy nor will I stand and watch this world try and hide God. I am a son of God and I will shout out His existence even if it kills me.

Do not let the enemy confuse you with lies. Test all with the Bible and go to God in prayer. He will show you the truth or He will lead you to it. Come and stand with me as we fight for Jesus and take His truth to the world around us. I am all for you Lord and I am yours.

Lord, give us wisdom and strength so that we can destroy the lies of the enemy and take care of your flock. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 6 June 2017

A reminder for today
Dear friends, don't be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. (1 Peter 4:12)

My wife is in the hospital for an operation and it made me realize once more how fragile we are. Our time here is so short and our entire life is but a mere moment. We fuss over this world when we have so little time to save other. Each day has become a struggle to survive where we face many obstacles. The Bible make a numerous number of statements around suffering and especially suffering, because you are a Christian. Jesus talked about it, Paul wrote about it and Peter also makes a clear statement that you will have hardships.

There are many old testament refences on suffering and this one in Psalms 34:19 is a good one to keep: The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

Therefore, I know you face many challenges and that you also find yourself in moments where you just feel overwhelmed by your burdens. I know you struggle and that you are under constant attacks by the enemy. I know it is hard and that you feel powerless at days. I know you get tired and weary and that you can use a break.

The enemy is not concerned with the lost. It is those that are saved that he wants to destroy and yes, you will continue to face many trails, but the Lord knows and sees your troubles. Peter writes that we must rejoice in them. He says be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.

Be strong, my friend for there is power in weakness and salvation in suffering. The enemy can give his best, but we are children of an almighty God and the enemy’s attempts to break us will fail for we are more powerful than his best attempts. Your strength flows from God that is unlimited in power and your determination is the life in eternity that awaits us.

At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”

Lord, may your name be praised in all that we do and face today. Carry us as we face our challenges in joyous celebration. Let each burden move us closer to you and let each moment we struggle glorify your name as we remind the enemy of his future. Lord, give us strength and hold us safely in your hands. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
