Today Reminder – 16 June 2017

A reminder for today

For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw his majestic splendor with our own eyes when he received honor and glory from God the Father. The voice from the majestic glory of God said to him, "This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy." We ourselves heard that voice from heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain. (2 Peter 1:16-18)

Today is a public holiday here in South Africa. Very nice indeed, because we get an extra day to the weekend. I hope you guys are well and that you are growing in your faith. You have to admit that these verses are amazing. Peter is reminding us that he walked with our Lord Jesus and what is so awesome from his personal experience is that he saw the majestic splendour of Jesus. Peter are not telling us about someone he heard of. He is telling us about someone he knew personally. 

If you think about it when these disciples were persecuted and tortured they never denied Jesus. Why, because they knew who He was and they knew what He was. Jesus is the Son of God and they heard God say this. This testimony is an eye witness account of who Jesus was. You can read more about that in the month’s book (Cold-case Christianity). 

You see we are worshiping the only living God. We are children of the creator of heaven and earth. There is no doubt in our hearts, because like Peter we also have a personal relationship with Jesus that is empowered by the Holy Spirit and through Jesus we have direct access to the Father.

How amazing is this. How can anyone doubt? Live out your faith and do not allow the enemy to silence you. Share the gospel as much as you can, because nothing we do for the Lord is in vain.

Lord, thank you for all the proof you give us each day so that there is no doubt in our hearts or minds. 

We love you, Lord and we cannot do this by ourselves. We need you, Lord. Please give us the strength and courage we need to boldly testify for you. Let your kingdom come and let your will be done. In Jesus name.

Today Reminder – 15 June 2017

A reminder for today

In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God's promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. (2 Peter 1:5-7)

You have to admit, this is an awesome piece of scripture. This morning my car was in an accident again. As I tried to park another driver accidently bumped into me. At first, I was not impressed and I could just see the time that we will be without a vehicle while it is being repaired. I was upset. When I walked out of the police station I realised that when I looked at the other driver the Holy Spirit tried to tell me something and I missed it. I phone the driver and I apologised for being angry and even rude. In that moment, I felt God at work and he shared how he had a terrible morning and he just did not look. Honest mistake. I remined him that it is how the enemy works and that I am all too aware of his devious ways. I told him that all is ok and I am truly sorry. Suddenly Jesus took what the enemy intended for bad and turned it into good. I drove off knowing that we have defeated the attempts of satan once again.

My dear friend, Peter knew all too well how the enemy works and how he can deceive us. Peter was deceived by the devil when they crucified Jesus. This is why he can write with amazing authority on how we should behave. He says that we must respond to God’s promises and supplement our faith with provision of moral excellence. I tell you I could feel my faith getting a huge boost this morning. He says we must act with self-control and be patient with endurance in godliness. This is what separates us from the rest. When I argued with atheists yesterday they turn to insults so quickly and it is because they do not have that moral excellence and godliness that we have in the Holy Spirit. 

My friend, I tell you that you are amazing. It is just awesome to be a Christian and to know Jesus Christ. It is life changing and it is real. We love with real affection, because our guideline is God. That is why the ungodly seek to hurt and destroy. We are set apart because of our righteousness and that is why Christians are hated and persecuted. We are saved and they hate us for it instead of seeing their wrong ways. Luckily the Lord is at work and I am pretty sure that together we will save more.

So, you are doing great. Keep doing what you’re doing, because we are not afraid and we will no longer be quiet. Let the world know who Jesus is.

Lord, thank you for your love and guidance. Help us to be the light in the darkness and show your love in how we live. Let us endure through all our trials and bring glory and honour to your name. In Jesus name.

A reminder for today

Then I witnessed in heaven an event of great significance. I saw a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon beneath her feet, and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant, and she cried out because of her labor pains and the agony of giving birth. Then I witnessed in heaven another significant event. I saw a large red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, with seven crowns on his heads. His tail swept away one-third of the stars in the sky, and he threw them to the earth. He stood in front of the woman as she was about to give birth, ready to devour her baby as soon as it was born. She gave birth to a son who was to rule all nations with an iron rod. And her child was snatched away from the dragon and was caught up to God and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where God had prepared a place to care for her for 1,260 days. (Revelation 12:1-6)

My dear friend, I have added this section in Revelation, because we need to be attend on the things to come. I believe that we are in the end times and you will see a number of people talking about this specific prophecy in revelation. One thing that you must know is that this specific revelation points to September 23, 2017. Here is a basic outline, but I will add a link to a video that you can watch if you need more info regarding it. What is going to happen on this day, we are not entirely sure, but I would rather spread the message and know you guys are ready. 

Now the basics. On September 23, 2015 astronomers saw the exact same star in the heavens that was seen at the birth of Jesus. There is a two-year period from then until this year, which is significant when you look at the time the wise men took to find Jesus. 

 Now I want to point you back to the prophecy. John saw this in heaven. He saw this woman in heaven with 12 stars on her head. Now in our stars is a constellation called the Virgo. On September 23, 2017, the planet Jupiter will pass through this constellation and circle in it for a while. Now the place in the constellation that Jupiter will pass through will be the womb of the woman. Jupiter will come out in a way as if the woman is giving birth. The moon will be at her feet in this time and the sun will be at her head. The constellation Leo will be over her head that consists of nine stars, and in the same time on this date three planets (Mercury, Mars and Venus) will align with the constellation of Leo to produce 12 stars at her head. 

This is the fulfilment of revelation 12. This is very significant, because this has never taken place before. There are a number of scriptures that also refer to this, which means something is going to happen on that day. I do not know what it is. It could be the rapture or it could be something to do with Israel. Whatever it is, it is clear that we are in the end times.

The psalmist wrote when I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you set in place—what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?

Lord, let your kingdom come. Let us take the last moments and tell as many as we can about you. Lord, fill our hearts with your strength as we spread the good news of your love and grace. In Jesus name.
