A reminder
for today
So
Moses returned to the LORD and said, "Oh, what a terrible sin these people
have committed. They have made gods of gold for themselves. But now, if
you will only forgive their sin—but if not, erase my name from the record you
have written!" (Exodus 32:31-32)
Turning away:
This is something that I have wondered about for a long
time. Why would the people of Israel ask Aaron to build them a god after all
that has happened to them? They stood by the mountain, they heard God’s voice,
the saw God’s miracles and yet they turned away from Him worshipping a golden
calf.
But does that not make you think that this is how we are.
We see all that God does for us, we are guided by His Spirit and when all is
over we can so easily slip back into our old ways.
Now this made me think: “Now leave me alone so my
fierce anger can blaze against them, and I will destroy them. Then I will make
you, Moses, into a great nation." (Verse 10) God wanted to destroy His
people, but Moses pleaded with God and so God did not destroy His people, but
allowed Moses to go down the mountain and confront them. God did punish them
though: Then the LORD sent a great plague
upon the people because they had worshiped the calf Aaron had made. (Verse 35)
Jesus intervenes for us each and every day asking God to
forgive us and be patient with us. My dear friend, Jesus died for you so that
you can be free. Do not abuse this gift, but align yourself with His word and
His life so that you can be free from the pitfalls of this world. Do not let
the enemy trick you in falling for his empty promises and allow him to place
material things in God’s place. You do not want to stand in front of God’s
throne to await judgement for following the wrong direction. Stay the course
and set your eyes on Jesus as your goal so that you cannot be misled by the
powers of this world.
I pray that you will be steadfast in your faith and that
you will not dwell away from the path of life, in Jesus name.
Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
