A reminder
for today
"You
must not have any other god but me. You must not make for yourself an idol of
any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea.”
(Exodus 20:3-4)
Covet, want and desire:
How easily do we replace God and forget about Him? How do
we let desire and greed replace contentment and create a need for something we
do not need? How do we allow worldly possessions to replace God in our lives?
My dear friend, especially in this time of the year it is
so important that we put God first. This whole holiday is to celebrate the
birth of Christ, yet the world has changed so much that we would rather tell
our kids about Santa and how he miraculously travel thousands of miles on
Christmas eve to visit each and every home in world to bring gifts to us. We take
the glory of the most important event in the history of Christians and we
replace it with a worldly figure and we make him look so great, because he
brings us gifts.
The real gift and the one thing we should bring back to
this time of the year is the gift of a little baby boy born in Bethlehem, a little
boy who grew up to be hated and killed, so that He can save the lives of the
entire human race. Now that is a story worth telling and gift we can so easily
give and this gift will last forever. I believe if we celebrate Christmas for
what it truly is, people will stop to do the silly things they do over
Christmas and instead of being tired we can look forward to be renewed and
strengthened by His everlasting gift.
Come with me as we celebrate the true meaning of
Christmas. Let’s celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our saviour and give
glory to God.
If my
people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and
seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
I pray that all honour and glory will go to the Lord over
this festive season and that you and your family will be blessed again by the
birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, in Jesus name.
Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
