A
reminder for today
Trust
in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart's desires. (Psalm
37:3-4)
I just love these verses. There are two major promises
here that we should continue to use in our daily strength requirements.
“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your
heart's desires.” Taking delight in the Lord means that our hearts truly find
peace and fulfilment in Him. If we truly find satisfaction and worth in Christ,
Scripture says He will give us the longings of our hearts. Does that mean, if
we go to church every Sunday, God will give us a new Rolls Royce? No. The idea
behind this verse and others like it is that, when we truly rejoice or
“delight” in the eternal things of God, our desires will begin to parallel His
and we will never go unfulfilled. Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek the Kingdom of God
above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
“Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.” Trusting in the Lord and live a life that does good in the eyes of the Lord will let you live safely and prosper. This “good” is to follow His voice and listen to His direction and to use His Word as our life measure, then not only will we prosper, but we will also live safely.

To increase your strength you need to desire what God
desires and you need to trust Him and do as He wants. God will surely fulfil
His promise and give you these desires and let you prosper.
When Peter recognized Jesus walking on the water, he was
willing to get out of the boat, step into the water and go to Jesus where He
was. Peter is frequently criticized for getting his eyes off of Jesus and
sinking, but to his credit, he was the only one that got out of the boat. I’d
rather step out into the stormy waters of life and go to Jesus where He is than
to sit in the safe secure boat with the rest of the disciples. What about you?
Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus
Cheers
