A reminder for today
Owe
nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love
your neighbour, you will fulfil the requirements of God's law. (Romans 13:8)
Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfils the
requirements of God's law. I think we do not completely understand this: Love
you neighbour as you love yourself. It is one of the most powerful statements
made by the Lord. To fully love is to love with no boundaries. This means when
you say that you love your neighbour you must expect the same things for them
as you would for yourself. We seem to make love a mediocre word in the way we
do things. We took the Godly meaning of love and replaced it with a worldly
outlook. When God talks about love He does it in context to the way He loves
you. Now God gave His Only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for your sins. This is the
magnitude of His love and this is how God sees love. What is love then?
If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed
my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn't love others, I would have
gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or
proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it
keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but
rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses
faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and
speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But
love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and
even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when
the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. (1
Corinthians 13:3-10)
So now that we have an idea of how God wants us to love,
let us change our perspective and align it to God’s perspective. Let us change
our hearts and allow God to be the drive force in our hearts. Let us see other
the way God sees them. There is unlimited power in forgiveness and remember God
will forgive us in the same way we forgive other. Let your love flow, my
friend.
Lord, come and fill us today with your boundless love and
let is stream through us to those around us. Let us love our neighbours in the
way you want us to love. In Jesus name.
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus. We have a long
weekend so I’ll talk to you on Monday. I look forward to spending time with
you.
Cheers
