A reminder for today
So why
do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer?
Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. For the Scriptures
say, "'As surely as I live,' says the LORD, 'every knee will bend to me, and
every tongue will confess and give praise to God '" (Romans 14:10-11)
To condemn other has become an everyday thing. We are so
quick to see the wrongs and mistakes of another that we become blind to our own
faults. We blame other for our mistakes and we ignore the Lord in our decisions.
We gossip and we say bad things of other. We spend hours on Facebook looking at
what other do and then we criticize them. Facebook has become a missive problem
in this world. It not only opens the web for gossip and vanity it robs us of
personal contact. We are quick to criticize and slow to understand. We envy and
we lie and we hurt as we live for only ourselves.
What did Jesus say about this? How can you think of saying, 'Friend, let me help you get rid of that
speck in your eye,' when you can't see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite!
First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal
with the speck in your friend's eye. (Luke 6:42)
So it is quite simple – do not condemn or gossip. We will
all stand before the Lord in the end and I can guarantee you that God will look
at the way you judged and condemned. Why is it so hard to just love your
neighbour? Why is it so hard for people to leave other alone? When we turn to
God and give our hearts for Jesus, we break from this kind of living. We turn
from a life of gossip and hate and sin to a life of freedom and peace. We turn
away from the world so that we can be accepted in the new world and the new
heaven. We stand against hurt and pain so that we can show love and acceptance.
We become a vessel of good news as we live for God and honour His name. Sometimes
you must just take yourself out of your picture so that you can see other the
way God sees them.
Lord, help us to be better and guide us away from gossip
and condemnation into a judgement free way of life. Let us be your voice here
on earth and for the sake of the world bring back the fire in me. In Jesus
name.
