A reminder for
today
Since you excel in so
many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm,
and your love from us—I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving. (2
Corinthians 8:7)
Giving is one of the most powerful ways to display the heart
of Jesus but also one of the hardest. In today’s time inflation and the
constant rise of prices plays a huge roll in the way people give. It is easy to
give from abundance but not easy when you yourself is going through a tough
financial battle. Paul writes here about the churches in Macedonia and how they
are all going through massive financial challenges, yet they give freely and
the ask to give more.
What is it that people in such hard times are so willing to
give. It all boils down to one little phrase. We walk by faith and not by sight. We
live in faith not in what we see. We give in faith and not what we are able to
give. So my dear friend, today I challenge us to give more and more freely so
that the wonder of our Lord will echo through the hearts of those that are
lost. Give from you heart and the Lord will bless you in return. For we will
reap what we sow.
Lord, give us the courage and strength to give more and more
so that you will be glorified by our faith. In Jesus name.
