Today Reminder – 31 October 2016

A reminder for today
Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.(Ephesians 5:10-11)

I hope you had an amazing weekend, my friend. Our weekend was quite busy and obviously the weekend was very short, because the more you do the quicker a weekend ends. So I sit here today thinking that I can do with another day of rest. I love to be busy so my weekends are normally a little short. It was a weekend of reuniting and awesome in that sense. On Saturday we held the ambassador cup. This is a very prestigious event in SA taekwondo and I saw all my all teammates again. This was so awesome because even after all these years they are still like family. The event was awesome and like most times I competed again and it was awesome to be back in that ring. My wife had here school reunion and on Sunday we celebrated my father’s birthday. So my very busy weekend was a weekend of bringing people and family together. I think that friendship and love really pleases the Lord. I think that love is what God is all about and if we prosper in love we mirror His heart. I believe that keeping friendships and standing by your family is something that God desires, because this is the key to destroying darkness.

So today my challenge is that you take no part in the deeds of evil and darkness. Expose them and keep seeking what pleases the Lord. In this you will find great favor and true happiness.

Lord, help us to determine what pleases you and give us the wisdom and guidance to continue to please you in all that we do. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 28 October 2016

A reminder for today
You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.(Ephesians 5:5)

How are you, my friend? It is yet another Friday and another weekend that lies ahead. I love Fridays and I guess a lot of you too. As Friday starts you get that weekend feeling and your body goes into relax mode. You mind takes a breather and your heart takes a break. In today’s world most people work on weekends and in so many updates we spend just as much time working on a weekend than we work in the week. As we rush to get things done we fight through weekends to deliver. So your body goes into weekend mode but your mind goes into overdrive, because now it must pull things together when the body wants to rest. Greed is such a terrible thing and it can drive people insane. With greed comes so many bad things and we must be careful that we do not get ourselves tangled in it. Greed is purely an intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power, or food. Wealth and power is something so many desires and it can make a good man a very bad man. So many lives have been lost, because of someones greed and lust for power.

Steer away from it and focus your desires on God. Desire more of God and more time with Him. Desire to be more like Jesus and to be able to walk in His footsteps. Desire a pure heart and strong moral compass. Desire the things of heaven then the things of this earth will have no meaning for you. Desire to be good to other and good in all your relationships then you will never be embarrassed. Desire to stand for what is right then the enemy will fall in all their attempts. Desire a heart free from the greed of man and you will prosper in all that is God.

So today my challenge is simple – do not be greedy. I sound simple yet it can be a hard one. So I challenge you to steer away from greed and be contempt.

Lord, I pray that you will fill our hearts with all of you so that we will not be affected by greed, instead we will seek you above all. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 27 October 2016

A reminder for today
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.(Ephesians 5:1)

The message is simple, live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. Yet the execution of this message is not so easy, especially when we are a little set in our ways. Imitating God can be difficult when we are angry at someone or when we are hurt. My work is in a very popular area here in Pretoria. So at the moment there is a massive development taking place. On the one side a new upper class mall opened a month ago and across from us they are building an enormous hotel and casino. You can just imagine the temptations that this area will produce and how many will fall at the desires of this world. It is unbelievable how much challenges come across our journeys and how hard the enemy is at work. For every one saved the enemy creates a hundred traps where they can stumble and fall.

So to imitate God and be His child is not a job for the fearful ones and surely not if you are ready to give up at the first bump in the road. So you can imagine the year that awaits us as they plan to open this casino early next year. I can just imagine old Lucifer calling his demons in for a meeting. He’s got the projector up with graphs on figures as they plan to take this area with no resistance. He forecasts his projections to plan how many souls will be lost in this battle and then he boasts as he shows this new temple for the dark side. So yes you will meet me in my war room as I stand on my knees for the salvation of all that enters this place. To imitate God is to give and to sacrifice, and there is no better way to start than on your knees in prayer.

So today there is no challenge. All I ask is that you take more time in prayer and fight the good fight with me.

Lord, today I pray that you will give us guidance as we pray for other. Please help us to touch the hearts of those around us so that they will not be lost, but instead let your words touch their hearts and find good soil to grow in. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
