Today Reminder – 31 October 2016

A reminder for today
Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.(Ephesians 5:10-11)

I hope you had an amazing weekend, my friend. Our weekend was quite busy and obviously the weekend was very short, because the more you do the quicker a weekend ends. So I sit here today thinking that I can do with another day of rest. I love to be busy so my weekends are normally a little short. It was a weekend of reuniting and awesome in that sense. On Saturday we held the ambassador cup. This is a very prestigious event in SA taekwondo and I saw all my all teammates again. This was so awesome because even after all these years they are still like family. The event was awesome and like most times I competed again and it was awesome to be back in that ring. My wife had here school reunion and on Sunday we celebrated my father’s birthday. So my very busy weekend was a weekend of bringing people and family together. I think that friendship and love really pleases the Lord. I think that love is what God is all about and if we prosper in love we mirror His heart. I believe that keeping friendships and standing by your family is something that God desires, because this is the key to destroying darkness.

So today my challenge is that you take no part in the deeds of evil and darkness. Expose them and keep seeking what pleases the Lord. In this you will find great favor and true happiness.

Lord, help us to determine what pleases you and give us the wisdom and guidance to continue to please you in all that we do. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
