Today Reminder – 26 October 2016

A reminder for today
Don't use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.(Ephesians 4:29)

Just as the digital age has ushered in new ways of enhancing human connection, it’s also opened up the scope and range of social rejection. You can no hurt someone without even talking to them. Hurtful words can be posted on social media and within seconds everyone will know about it. I can say that I had a similar experience. I was scorned on Facebook and within seconds people I did not even know, knew about it and had something to add. So many of us fail at this. Our words are seldom an encouragement and our words are so easily focused on hurting and destroying. It is because so many of us live in our own little selfish bubble and we see the world only through our own misguided views.

Imagine the effect if that person wrote a good and helpful word of encouragement instead of trying to hurt you. You would be so deeply touched and you would surely give it thought. You would surely have a higher regard for that person instead of anger and hurt.

So today I have a big challenge for you. Go out into this day and encourage. Even when you feel you want to strangle someone, take a moment and say helpful words. I want you to avoid foul or abusive language and only speak words that encourages, rebuilds and grows. Let the seed of your words bloom in the hearts of those who receives it.

Lord, bless us today with kind hearts and encouraging words so that we will uplift and renew hearts all around us. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
