Today Reminder – 15 November 2016

A reminder for today
I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. (Philippians 3:7)

Life is all about pressing on and to keep going. Giving up is around every corner and destruction to our faith lies and wait at every bump in our road. Our journey is like a line that separates sadness from joy. If you fall below the line unhappiness and depression is bound to set in. When we travel above the line we are happy and joyous. We sometimes find ourselves on the line that borders happiness and sadness. So we seem to be happy but we are actually also sad. Border line madness where you are happy on the outside and sad on the inside. We need to fight our way up and above the line. That is where the true happiness lies. Above the line is the light of Jesus and the freedom we have in Him. It is the worldly things that pulls us down and under line. It is circumstances and loss that becomes and anchor that forces us below the line. It is no easy task to move on from loss and hurt and to stand up again and just be happy. It is hard to work through pain and depression and move up and above the line. Loss is probably one of the hardest things to understand let alone work through it. The Lord knew all about loss and pain when look at the resurrection of Lazarus in John 11.

They told him, "Lord, come and see."Then Jesus wept. The people who were standing nearby said, "See how much he loved him”

Jesus responded, "Didn't I tell you that you would see God's glory if you believe?"So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, "Father, thank you for hearing me. You always hear me, but I said it out loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so that they will believe you sent me."Then Jesus shouted, "Lazarus, come out!" And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, "Unwrap him and let him go!"

Even in death we are victorious and I guess this is the hardest thing to understand for we are so gripped by grief that we do not realize that in death we are destined for heaven. A much better place than this evil world around us. The key remains that we should press on and not give up, because the real miracle is the resurrection of our Lord and how He defeated death and sin for our sake.

So today I want you to know that nothing here on this world should be seen as valuable. Look to the heavens and look at the grace of a living God. Destroy depression and move up above the line and live for what the Lord has done. I will gladly give my life for you if it means that you will be saved.

Lord, break the chains of darkness and guide us so that we will grow in your light and live above the line and in your joy. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
