A reminder for
today
And give thanks for
everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.(Ephesians 5:20)
Yesterday afternoon the clouds were suddenly dark and there
was thunder in the skies. We expected a huge thunder storm. It rained for a few
minutes and then it was all gone. I must say I felt a little disappointing,
because it all looked so promising. Life is a lot like that. We set
expectations and when we do not get what we expected we are disappointed.
Sometimes disappointment turns into anger and we fight because of what our
expectations was. You actually see it everywhere. People get disappointed in a
restaurant when they do not get what they ordered and sometimes they get really
upset. We expect a promotion and then we do not get it. We buy tickets for a
show and then is turns out to terrible. We watch our favorite sports team play
and lose. You train to win and then you don’t. life is full of disappointment.
Paul writes here in Ephesians that we should give thanks for everything. Even when
we are disappointed there is still so much to be grateful for.
So today my challenge is that we should be more grateful. Give
thanks to the Lord for your health, your job, your family, your friends, your
house, your car, your bicycle, your food, your water, your bus ticket, your
shoes, your clothes, your hands, your talents, your eyes and finally your life.
Life is what we have and in that we have life in abundance for Jesus gave us
more life when He gave up His life for ours. It is the little things in life
that is important like a hug, a smile, a word of gratitude and to be thankful. A
humble and thankful heart is a heart that is close to God. Come with me as we
lift our hands and just give thanks.
Lord, we thank you for all that you do and all that you have
done for us. We glorify your name for all that you do and we praise you, Lord. Thank
you for the life that fills us and the strength that you give us each day. Thank
you for your love and all your blessings. We are so grateful for you, Lord. In
Jesus name.
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
