The world we live in can be a very enticing with all the nice things we get today. It was not easy to remember Jerusalem when the Jews saw the splendour of Babylon.
Living with sin all around us can affect our spiritual vitality. We can so easily be tempted by earthly ambition and pleasure that can be our downfall so quickly. From the beginning man was tempted by power en material things and today the enemy has a vast world of social media and access to the internet that can open a world of deceit in mere seconds.
It is imperative that we do not love and desire the things of this world for they will perish and pass away just like Babylon. We must strive to set our affections on things above and put our treasure in heaven.
Put God first and seek Him above all else because eternity is a very very very long time. A little bit of God is far greater than all this world can offer. Stand firm and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit and His love and grace will carry you through it all.
