Today Reminder - 18 October 2012 (Jealousy)

A reminder for today
"Why are you so angry?" the Lord asked Cain. "Why do you look so dejected? (Genesis 4:6)

Jealousy – Cain’s anger and jealousy lead him to kill his brother and he ended up a homeless wanderer. Jealousy can destroy you and it is not necessary at all. I think it is one of the enemy’s best deceptive tools that have worked in the downfall of Christians for decades. How easily do we get jealous?

We are quick to look at other people and jealousy will creep in and causes hate which inevitably leads to anger and gossip. Is it someone’s money or possessions or position or even talents that could make us jealous?

My dear friend, God’s answer to Cain was “You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master." You too are blessed and you also have talents, each given to us by God for a special purpose. We have no reason to be jealous of anyone or anything. All this that causes so much pain, is all only temporary. The moment you realise that, you will also realise it is pointless to compare you with other. Each of us is uniquely crafted for God’s special purpose and each of us is blessed with special abilities and talents.

Don’t hide your talents, but make use of them for His glory.

Don’t look at someone else, but look at Jesus and compare your life to His. He is the only real and true example of how we should be and how we should live.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Today Reminder - 17 October 2012 (Deception)

A reminder for today
"You won't die!" the serpent replied to the woman. "God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil." The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. (Genesis 3:4-6)

Deception – Knowing it is wrong but yet you are still convinced it is fine to carry on. It is funny actually how people seek money and power. Man wants to be like God. He wants to be powerful and rich and everyone must be in awe of his prominence. It is a terrible flaw and one the enemy loves to use in its deception. You see it started with Adam and Eve, but never stopped there. The enemy still today deceives people by making them think they can have God’s wisdom and power.

But deception surely does not stop there. The enemy has found so many ways in deceiving us today in making us think it is the right thing to do, when it is actually wrong. How easy it has become to manipulate us in today’s world with all the media and television and terrible examples that we have in our celebrities and leaders.

Here is one or two as food for thought:

"You must not have any other god but me.” – Yet we allow money and possessions to take God’s place in our lives.

"You must not misuse the name of the LORD your God.” – In today’s society it has become part of the way people talk and obviously we see it on TV.

"Honour your father and mother. “ – Do we?

And how many “Little white lies” do we tell?

My dear friend, satan will continue to deceive us and convince us it fine unless you measure it against the Word of God. Don’t just accept his lies but let God guide you by His word so that you can distinguish between right and wrong and between lies and truth.

My prayer for you is that God will grant you the wisdom to see past the enemy’s lies and that you will allow God to show you the truth and the right way, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 16 October 2012 (Mistakes)

A reminder for today
The man replied, "It was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it." (Genesis 3:12)

Mistakes – I guess it is a natural response in human nature to seek a reason for making a mistake. We would rather get angry and blame someone or something for our mistakes than seek out our own faults. Is it pride? Is it that we strive for perfection in an imperfect world? Or do we just like to make ourselves feel better at someone else's expense?

Adam and Eve were punished for their disobedience in the Garden of Eden that left them banished from the garden to live of the land with hard work. Their mistake cost them dearly. Making mistakes is part of life and in them we learn and we grow. Allowing yourself to make a mistake and excepting the punishment that follows is part of forgiveness.

Forgiveness plays such a vital role in our daily lives. Not only does it free you from the guilt, but it sets you free from the grip of the enemy. You see the enemy does not want you to succeed. He wants you to fail until you get to a point where you give up and slip into darkness. God on the other hand wants you to be free and to succeed, otherwise He would not have send His son to save you.

My dear friend, make mistakes and accept the result. Forgive, because God forgave you.

My prayer for you is that you will accept your mistakes and forgive yourself for them and those that make mistakes around you, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 15 October 2012 (Family)

A reminder for today
Then the Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone...." (Genesis 2:18)

Family and friends – what a blessing it is to have a family and good friends. Having our family over and spending time with them made me think that today I would like to remind you how important they are in our lives. God brings people into our lives to enrich and support us in our journey. Family being the closest is always the most involved in our lives.

It is such a blessing to see the excitement in their eyes as they are happy to see us and to laugh, listen and share as time goes by so quickly. I only wish that we could and would spend more time with our families, as they are part of the pillars that God places in our lives to keep us standing.

My dear friend, we are not made to be alone. We are made to have friends and be part of our families. We should look past our differences and replace any, if any, with love and understanding. We must share and give and encourage and support each other for we are God’s children and in His family love always overcomes all.

I pray that you too will see the treasure that God has given you in family and friends, and that you will treasure this gift each day for His glory, in Jesus name.

“Can miles truly separate you from friends... If you want to be with someone you love, aren't you already there?” ― Richard Bach

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Today Reminder - 12 October 2012 (Choices)

A reminder for today
But the Lord God warned him, "You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden—except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die." (Genesis 2:16-17)

There are so many pitfalls in this life and allowing evil into your life robs you of the blessings God so freely gives. We are daily confronted with things that will lift us up and things that will bring us down. It is the decision that we make that sends us in either the right or wrong direction.

Every day God warns us against the wrong things and through the Holy Spirit He gives direction. It is important that we listen carefully and make sure we understand God’s advice so that we can make the right choice sending us in the direction God needs us to go.

My dear friend, listen to God’s warnings and open your heart so that you will hear His voice and feel His direction as His intention is always to help and protect us. Seek His guidance and be careful of your choice, because our own personal desire can easily steer us in the wrong direction and push us to make the wrong choice.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus. Let us listen and follow His shepherd’s voice.

Cheers
