Today Reminder – 10 April 2017

A reminder for today
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. (Hebrews 4:12)

It is Monday and I must admit I wanted to stay at home today. I am just not ready for this week and I fear I am a little negative. So today, just in case my negativity is contagious I am going to give you a little inspiration for the day. Are you ready? Here it comes.

“Life is wasted if we do not grasp the glory of the cross, cherish it for the treasure that it is, and cleave to it as the highest price of every pleasure and the deepest comfort in every pain. What was once foolishness to us—a crucified God—must become our wisdom and our power and our only boast in this world.” –John Piper

"If God is your partner, make your plans BIG!" –D.L. Moody

“You are the only Bible some unbelievers will ever read.” –John MacArthur

“We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face...we must do that which we think we cannot."  –Eleanor Roosevelt

“He who lays up treasures on earth spends his life backing away from his treasures. To him, death is loss. He who lays up treasures in heaven looks forward to eternity; he’s moving daily toward his treasures. To him, death is gain.” –Randy Alcorn

“God does not give us everything we want, but He does fulfil His promises, leading us along the best and straightest paths to Himself.” –Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say, 'O God, forgive me,' or 'Help me.'” –Billy Graham

“Always, everywhere God is present, and always He seeks to discover Himself to each one” –A.W.Tozer

"If you believe in a God who controls the big things, you have to believe in a God who controls the little things.  It is we, of course, to whom things look 'little' or 'big'." –Elisabeth Elliot

“There is no one who is insignificant in the purpose of God.” –Alistair Begg

"Relying on God has to start all over every day, as if nothing has yet been done."  –C. S. Lewis

“This is our time on the history line of God. This is it. What will we do with the one deep exhale of God on this earth? For we are but a vapour and we have to make it count. We are on. Direct us, Lord, and get us on our feet.” –Beth Moore

"The best thing about the future is that it comes only one day at a time." –Abraham Lincoln

“Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.” –Mother Teresa

“The greater your knowledge of the goodness and grace of God on your life, the more likely you are to praise Him in the storm.” –Matt Chandler

"Continuous effort -- not strength nor intelligence -- is the key to unlocking our potential." –Winston Churchill

“God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him” –John Piper

Lord, give us strength and lead us today for by ourselves, we are surely lost, but with you, we will overcome. Let us wear your armour and let us break the chains of the enemy. In Jesus name.

Today Reminder – 7 April 2017

A reminder for today
That is why the Holy Spirit says, "Today when you hear his voice, don't harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness”. (Hebrews 3:7-8)

Today South Africa takes to the streets marching against corruption and mall practise by our current president. His latest devious act was to remove our finance minister and other that was not going to stand for his corrupt ways. Now our country is up in arms and adamant that he resigns. Therefore, many are marching against him and many people did not go to work to call for a state of emergency – Zuma must go.

Although marching and chaos is a way of getting the world to notice, all remains in God’s hands and He is the only one that can change our current situation. Our country has gone through two terrible presidencies and I am afraid we will not survive another. God is very clear in what is needed to free us from another tyrant seeking only his own needs over that of a nation. Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

Restoration is surely needed, but above all, we need to listen. Especially today when we take to the streets, we must stop hardening our hearts and listen to God’s voice. We must stop rebelling against the will of God and seek Him with burning hearts. We must turn away from wickedness and seek Him and ask for forgiveness for our own selfish hearts. It is time that we unite and return to God as nation of people who has always remained faithful to God. We can only win this fight on our knees in prayer and it is time that we all unite all over the world and pray for all our leaders.

Our country needs prayer so much, but in the same way other leaders all over the world requires God to help them. President Donald Trump needs God just as much in a time of turmoil when so many stand against him. Other leaders are in positions where they too need Godly advice. God is the only way for our world to be saved and if we do not stand together in prayer, many may be lost.

Lord, we come together all over this world and we pray for all our leaders. Lord, we desperately need to return to you and humble ourselves again before you so that you can restore our world. We need you Lord, and we ask that you move once again and change our fate. Release us from evil Lord, and heal our lands. Let us wear your armour and hear your voice as we seek you in everything. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 6 April 2017

A reminder for today
Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested. (Hebrews 2:18)

Life is all about ups and downs. Each day we face many different challenges and we walk through the storms of life as the enemy persecutes us. He is relentless in his pursuit of our destruction and he walks through this world like a lion devouring it’s pray and hunting with an insatiable need to destroy. Each day we travel on our life journey with many of these obstacles that the enemy creates. I love the quote “The enemy fights the hardest when he knows God has something great planned for us”. We often find ourselves in a place where we feel that these burdens are just too much.

Jesus came into this world to save us and from the word go the enemy wanted Him to fail. Therefore, Jesus was tested and went through terrible suffering until He finally gave His life. Note that Jesus gave His life out of His own free will. His life was not taken from Him and this is an important point to remember. Now, He went through all this suffering and testing so He knows what we face each day. He knows the difficulties we have and the burdens that we carry. He knows how hard it is and He knows where you are. That is why Jesus knows how to help us when we are being tested and He knows how to equip us when we are challenged. He knows, because He went through it too.

Today I want you to take all those problems and burdens and challenges and give them to Jesus. Nothing we face is as big as the God that stands behind us. He will give you the wisdom and the courage to face your storms and He will guide you through the mountains that awaits you. Finally, He will give you strength to defeat the enemy and all his plans. I love to remind the enemy of his destination and to remind me of mine. Be strong, my friend, God is stronger.

Lord, we pray that you guide us through this day and help us to face the enemy and overcome all the challenges that awaits us. Lord, take our burdens and our problems and give is wisdom so that we can make the right choices. Help us to open our hearts and minds for you so that we can hear your voice and follow you as you guide us today. Lead us away from temptation and deliver us from evil. Let us carry your armour fearlessly. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
