A reminder for today

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvellous glory and excellence. (2 Peter 1:3)

I slept like a log last night and off course I did not want to get up this morning. It was cold and the bed was so nice and warm. I had to force myself out of the bed. I am convinced those blankets tried to hold me back. I guess everyone has a morning where you just want to fall back into the bed and stay there. I think I have way too many mornings like that. 

How can we live a godly life when we are going through so many challenges each day? How can we live a godly life when our life has not been so godly so far? When you walked into His presence and you asked for forgiveness your past became history. When you gave your heart to Jesus and you accepted Him as your saviour, your sins were wiped away. When you accepted Jesus and realised that you cannot do this on your own, your life became godly. 

By His amazing and divine power, He made you holy so that you can live a godly life. It is by our faith in Jesus and our love for Him that we are granted the abilities to live a godly life. It is by the realisation that we need Jesus and we can’t do without Him that our weaknesses are turned into strength. We are called to God by grace and given a new purpose by love. We are not broken anymore and nor are we lost. We have been given the most awesome gift and with this we have turned into vessels of honour that carries His words in our hearts so that our very deeds become holy. 

It is in our manor and in our way of life that we show Him. It is in our acceptance that He is God and in our faith that He took away all our sins so that we can be the warriors He wants us to be. It is in our trust and faith that we walk fearlessly and courageously on our journey. Jesus is our all and with Him we are stronger than we have ever been. We see life differently and we live life differently. We do not accept the lies of the enemy and we do not fear his attacks. We are the voice of Jesus and our lights shine brightly for Him.

Lord, we know you have given us all we need to live godly lives. Let us become the warriors you need us to be so that we can resist and defeat the enemy and show you to those who have forgotten you. Let our lives testify of your grace and glory so that other will seek it to. In Jesus name.

Today Reminder – 12 June 2017

A reminder for today

This letter is from Simon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ. I am writing to you who share the same precious faith we have. This faith was given to you because of the justice and fairness of Jesus Christ, our God and Saviour. (2 Peter 1:1)

Good day, my friend. It is a beautiful day here in Pretoria as we are almost in the midst of our winter. It is a crisp cool morning that embraced me as I left for work. South Africa are facing a few challenges as the Cape was blessed with amazing rain and fires destroyed a large part of Knysna leaving many people homeless. I know where you are you are also living amidst a number of challenges and so does all of us all over the world. 

Why am I writing to you? I am writing to you, because we share in something amazing. We share in the salvation of a risen God. We share in the love of the only living God. We share a faith that is abundant with hope and purpose. I write to you so that we can grow together in our knowledge of our God as we travel through His amazing Word and see His wonders. I write to you so that we can stand together and triumph in our darkest moments. I write to you, because I love you, my friend and we are not meant to fight alone. We received this wonderful faith, because of the love of our Lord, Jesus Christ and I want to shout it our all over the world. 

I stand with you today as I hold you in my prayers and carry you as we walk together. I stand with you, because our faith brings hope and our Saviour is alive. I stand with you, because together we are stronger. Let’s leave the past and focus on the future. Let is treasure every moment with our Lord and share is love with all we meet.  Be the light and break the darkness. Be the kind voice and break the heartache. Be the caring heart and break pain. Be the helping hand and break hate. Be the compass and lead the lost to Jesus. 

Lord, I pray that you will be with all these wonderful people all over the world. Bless each one as we read your blog and give us strength so that we will be the voice of reason in a world of darkness. Show us the way and lead us to do your will. Let us show you in the way we live. In Jesus name.

Today Reminder – 9 June 2017

A reminder for today

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are. (1 Peter 5:7-9)

One thing I love about God is how He can change anything in a second. One moment you are in the midst of a storm and the next moment it is all gone. You have no idea how you will make this day and when it is done, you wonder why you worried so much. We look at this world and we can see that things are not so great. There is a lot of bad things happening all over the world. I know you are facing some very hard challenges on a day, because I know the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. I know you are going through tough days, because we all are. But what I also know is that I know you are burdened so I carry you in my prayers. Just as we all carry each other in our prayers. You see the enemy wants to destroy us, but he can’t. Yesterday we talked about this, but I feel the Lord wants me to reassure you once more, that you are in good hands. 

Be alert, because the enemy waits around every corner. Be strong and remain firm against the enemy. Stand with me today as we stand strong in our faith. We are all going through some kind of suffering, but you should never feel alone. I will not allow the enemy to isolate you. You are way too precious and important to let that happen. 

Today is Friday and it came much faster than expected. So, on this beautiful and very cold Friday, I will declare war on the enemy and I will fight in prayer to protect all my Christian brothers and sisters all over the world. You can join this fight with me as we go down on our knees and fight the enemy. I love you, my friend and you are far more valuable than any diamond. You are a child of God and you are a warrior. Let the enemy come, we will not stand back, because in us lives and almighty God. We fear no evil. Be strong, be courageous and stand firm in your faith. We stand together.

Lord almighty, I bring all these wonderful people to you in prayer and I pray that you keep them save in your hands and fill them with your strength. Death could not hold you and satan ran at your sight. You are our God and you are all we need. You have no rival and you have no equal. All the glory to you as we call your powerful name over us. In Jesus name.
