A reminder for
today
By his divine
power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have
received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by
means of his marvellous glory and excellence. (2 Peter 1:3)
I slept like a log last night and off course I did not want
to get up this morning. It was cold and the bed was so nice and warm. I had to
force myself out of the bed. I am convinced those blankets tried to hold me
back. I guess everyone has a morning where you just want to fall back into the
bed and stay there. I think I have way too many mornings like that.
How can we live a godly life when we are going through so
many challenges each day? How can we live a godly life when our life has not
been so godly so far? When you walked into His presence and you asked for
forgiveness your past became history. When you gave your heart to Jesus and you
accepted Him as your saviour, your sins were wiped away. When you accepted
Jesus and realised that you cannot do this on your own, your life became godly.
By His amazing and divine power, He made you holy so that
you can live a godly life. It is by our faith in Jesus and our love for Him
that we are granted the abilities to live a godly life. It is by the
realisation that we need Jesus and we can’t do without Him that our weaknesses
are turned into strength. We are called to God by grace and given a new purpose
by love. We are not broken anymore and nor are we lost. We have been given the
most awesome gift and with this we have turned into vessels of honour that carries
His words in our hearts so that our very deeds become holy.
It is in our manor and in our way of life that we show Him. It
is in our acceptance that He is God and in our faith that He took away all our
sins so that we can be the warriors He wants us to be. It is in our trust and faith
that we walk fearlessly and courageously on our journey. Jesus is our all and
with Him we are stronger than we have ever been. We see life differently and we
live life differently. We do not accept the lies of the enemy and we do not
fear his attacks. We are the voice of Jesus and our lights shine brightly for
Him.
Lord, we know you have given us all we need to live godly
lives. Let us become the warriors you need us to be so that we can resist and
defeat the enemy and show you to those who have forgotten you. Let our lives
testify of your grace and glory so that other will seek it to. In Jesus name.
