Today Reminder - 30 April 2013 (A new heart)

A reminder for today As Saul turned and started to leave, God gave him a new heart, and all Samuel's signs were fulfilled that day. When Saul and his servant arrived at Gibeah, they saw a group of prophets coming toward them. Then the Spirit of God came powerfully upon Saul, and he, too, began to prophesy. (1 Samuel 10:9-10) God gave him a new heart. This verse was stuck in my head all day yesterday. Why did God gave Saul a new heart? God chose Saul, a handsome man much taller than any other, to be King and to rule over Israel. Saul must’ve lacked some of the qualities that were needed for a king therefore God changed him. God made him a new man full of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes God needs to change hearts. I believe we can so easily get stuck in our ways in how we think and what we do and how we react. Sure life changes us and I agree circumstances too, but it is in our hearts where we must be most careful. God changed Saul’s heart to be a better man, and sometimes Go...

Today Reminder - 29 April 2013 (Unique)

A reminder for today Then Samuel said to all the people, "This is the man the LORD has chosen as your king. No one in all Israel is like him!"  And all the people shouted, "Long live the king!" (1 Samuel 10:24) Samuel called the people of Israel together and told them that Saul is chosen by God to be their king. He uses these words: “ No one in all Israel is like him.” In Saul’s case this was quite true, because he stood head and shoulders above anyone else.  My dear friend, no one in all of creation is like you. You are unique. God made you different than anyone else and you too can stand out in your uniqueness. In this I mean you are specially designed by the master designer to be exactly as you are, for you have a special purpose on this earth and each day God is preparing you for that purpose. Come, my dear friend, you have been chosen to be God’s ambassador and to represent Him among the people. In your unique and special way you will rise an...

Today Reminder - 26 April 2013 (New)

A reminder for today At that time the Spirit of the LORD will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person. (1 Samuel 10:6) Reading this verse made me think of the term “Born again Christian”. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and saviour, there is a transformation that takes place. It is not a physical one, but a spiritual transformation from who we were to who we are about to become. When you start to live your life for Jesus you will become a different person and that is a fact. The worldly person you were now became a Holy person, because of the Holy Spirit that lives in you.  My dear friend, with Jesus as our saviour we cannot be normal anymore. It is impossible to have this amazing gift and still be your old self. From within you there will flow rivers of life as you live a life that is filled with the presence of the Lord. This is the heart of the gospel – you will transform into a new person, a b...

Today Reminder - 25 April 2013 (King)

A reminder for today And I am here to tell you that you and your family are the focus of all Israel's hopes." Saul replied, "But I'm only from the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest tribe in Israel, and my family is the least important of all the families of that tribe! Why are you talking like this to me?" (1 Samuel 9:20-21) Oh boy, this sounds just like Gideon. Israel wanted a king, so God pointed out Saul to Samuel as the man who will be king over Israel. His son Saul was the most handsome man in Israel—head and shoulders taller than anyone else in the land (Verse 2). Now the LORD had told Samuel the previous day, "About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him to be the leader of my people, Israel. He will rescue them from the Philistines, for I have looked down on my people in mercy and have heard their cry."(Verse 15 and 16) Once more God takes one of the least to be one of the greatest. How many t...

Today Reminder - 24 April 2013 (Guidance)

A reminder for today Samuel was displeased with their request and went to the LORD for guidance. (1 Samuel 8:6) My dear friend, this is the correct way. When we are angry, lost, worried, scared, insecure, needy, bored, broken, alone, hurting, seeking, falling and even when we are still standing. Go to the Lord for guidance. Samuel was a great judge and his success is easy to understand when we look at this specific verse. Samuel always consulted God and never acted on his own. This is why Samuel had such an amazing life judging Israel.  Always go to God for guidance and seek His way and you will never go wrong, even when the waves are impossible to climb God will make it possible, because in our weakness His greatness will be clearly visible to the world. Jesus looked at them intently and said, "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible." (Matthew 19:26)  Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.    Cheers
