A
reminder for today
When
Ruth went back to work again, Boaz ordered his young men, "Let her gather
grain right among the sheaves without stopping her. And pull out some
heads of barley from the bundles and drop them on purpose for her. Let her pick
them up, and don't give her a hard time!" (Ruth 2:15-16)
And
drop them on purpose for her. Boaz ended up being very
kind to Ruth knowing all about her suffering and in turn blessed Naomi by
allowing Ruth to gather grain from his fields. I listened once again to Matt
Chandler yesterday and he said something in his sermon that kept me thinking
all day and it took me back to yesterday’s verse where Naomi was sad and
changed her name to Mara.
He said: “As Christians we should never be surprised at
suffering. I do not know why we feel betrayed by God so quickly when things do
not go our way. The entire Bible is filled with that. The only explanation is
that you think you are really special.”
I love that, it puts you in a place where you realise
that being angry at God for unwanted circumstances is just plainly being self-centred
and self-idolizing. Things changed for Naomi and Ruth as God’s plan starts to
unfold. Things will change in your circumstances too. Once again I would like
to remind you not to turn away from God when the storm arrive but instead turn
to God.
My dear friend, this is completely against the
expectations of the enemy and a bold move of faith like that will elevate you
to a place in your relationship with God where the enemy will struggle to get
you down.
I pray that the Lord will carry you through the troubled
times and through the storms that you live through so that you will stand
unchanged in your faith as solid as a rock, in Jesus name.
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
