A
reminder for today
As
Samson arrived at Lehi, the Philistines came shouting in triumph. But the
Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon Samson, and he snapped the ropes on his
arms as if they were burnt strands of flax, and they fell from his wrists. Then
he found the jawbone of a recently killed donkey. He picked it up and killed
1,000 Philistines with it. (Judges 15:14-15)
Wow! That must’ve been something to see. The Philistines
thought they had Samson as he was led to them tied up in fresh new ropes. Can you
imagine their faces as he snapped the ropes and attacked them? You know, facing
a thousand plus enemy warriors alone, must surely make you think for a moment. But in Samson’s case the Spirit of the Lord
came powerfully upon him and he destroyed them.
I must admit reading through the history of Samson is exciting.
We read about the unlimited power that lies in the Holy Spirit, but here we
have a living example of what the Holy Spirit is capable of.
My dear friend, what is your Philistine army? What is
your mountain that you cannot move? What ties you up and holds you back? Come with me today as we snap the ropes of
whatever it is that holds us back and let us take the jawbone of faith and
attack our challenges with new strength. With God there is no mountain too high
and no enemy too strong.
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
