A
reminder for today
I
know, my God, that you examine our hearts and rejoice when you find integrity
there. You know I have done all this with good motives, and I have watched your
people offer their gifts willingly and joyously. (1 Chronicles 29:17)
Wow, it is Thursday already! This has been a tough week
with a wonderful variety of challenges. How are you holding up? Are you still
standing strong or are you barely floating as your waves start to rise? You are
in my thoughts today, my dear friend and I pray that you will withstand the
attacks of the enemy as they continue to try and weaken us.
I love this verse: “I
know, my God, that you examine our hearts and rejoice when you find integrity
there.” God is looking at your heart and He sees your motives. Have you
ever been in a situation where you try to do good for other but it seems as though
they take it all for granted and they even turn around and hurt you with their
comments and gossip? People can be so cruel without even knowing it and I find
that in our journey towards victory we are often troubled and burdened by
people and we are hurt by what other say and do. This could cause quite a
challenge on our journey and one that can keep us dormant for a while.
I know it is easy to say that we should not allow other
to influence us, but sometimes those words can be so sharp that they cut right
through to the bone and the very heart of our being. What do we do? How do we
resist the pain that comes from the words of other? It all comes down to where
you heart is and who you want to impress and whose words are more important.
That is why Paul wrote that he takes pleasure in insults and hardships for
Jesus, because these attacks from the enemy will only make us stronger. So when
people start to hurt you, turn to the One who can really see your heart, the
One that rejoices when He sees integrity and the One that knows your motives.
Turn your eyes to God and let Him be the One who measures you. If we allow the
insults and painful words of others to influence us we will always be burdened
by their sinful ways, but if you turn around and forgive them, and you ask God
to take this blanked of bad words away from you, you will overcome and defeat
the enemy right at the core. The enemy wants you to react and allow this pain
to bring you down, but if you take the bad and react with good, then they will
have no power over you.
Oh,
please help us against our enemies, for all human help is useless. With God's
help we will do mighty things, for he will trample down our foes. (Psalm 108:12-13)
Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus
Cheers
