A
reminder for today
And
David said to God, "I am the one who called for the census! I am the one
who has sinned and done wrong! But these people are as innocent as sheep—what
have they done? O LORD my God, let your anger fall against me and my family,
but do not destroy your people." (1 Chronicles 21:17)
“Hey, Hey it’s Friday!!”
It has been a long and challenging week and the best part is that there
is going to be many more, but I think in our preparation for the battle that
still awaits us and our constant study of the Word of God, we can be successful
and victorious at each and every corner.
David, having sinned against God, asks God to punish him
and not the people. This once again just astonishes me in the heart and depth
of the man God chose to be king. David shows so much character in this one
statement and in our week of victories this is one aspect of David that we must
make our own. The heart of David and the understanding of the consequences of
his acts made this man truly remarkable. He is victorious in this sense, because
he took what the enemy intended for destruction and changed it for good.
My dear friend, you and I are in the privileged position
of having Jesus Christ as the one that took our punishment so that God’s anger
cannot fall against us. Do not think for one moment that God wants to punish
you. God wants to see you grow in His love and become the person you are
intended and planned to be. So as we stare in the face of all the troubles that
awaits us, we stare with a new look of determination, because we know that
these problems are not from God. They are deviously planned and executed by
satan, and they have but no effect on us, because God is in us and we are in
Him. This position of safety will enable us to stand up against any and all
challenges and face them head on and fearless.
Our victory
verse for today is 1 Corinthians 10:13 - The temptations in your life are no
different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow
the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will
show you a way out so that you can endure.
God will never allow you to be tempted and challenged
above your abilities. You can and will defeat all challenges in the name of
Jesus.
“The
goal of temptation is to make you fall. So it is the devil who tempts you, not
God!” – Pedro Okoro
Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus
