Today Reminder - 18 September 2013 (Day 13 - Victories)

A reminder for today
We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace. (1 Chronicles 29:15)

Yesterday I was reminded again on how fragile we are. These bodies that we live in are so easily susceptible to all kinds of diseases and then there are so many ways that we can be injured or hurt that life on its own can be quite stressful.

How are you physically my dear friend? Are you sick or hurt or are you just tired? David reminds us again that we are here for only a moment and that life is passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace.

In our journey towards victory we need to take something from this verse. Firstly, we are here for only a moment – Life is but a moment compared to eternity and therefore it is so important that we achieve our goals in this moment so that we can be eternally with our Lord.

Secondly, we are visitors and strangers in this land – this land is surely not our home and certainly not a place where we want to spend eternity on. So we find ourselves almost as aliens in this world living out our time so that we can be free when we return to our Lord. But something that we all seem to ignore so often is the fact that we know about this, yet we share it so reluctantly. If you knew of a place that will help your friends when they have any kind of trouble, you will tell them about this place. We know of this wonderful gift we have in Jesus Christ, yet we do not tell.

Lastly, our days are like a passing shadow – I feel that we should not be a passing shadow. We should be a visible sign that brings Jesus into every place and into every situation. Even when we are afraid we should face the situation and bring Jesus in.

My dear friend, true victory is not just winning the race. It is in the continuous preparation, the hardships and the battles that take you to the race and finally running the race as if you have won even if you don’t. True victory is not only winning but having a winning attitude. Life is not just about living it, it is the way we live it and the attitude that we live this life with. Live each moment victorious like a champion and you will be a champion in all aspects of your life.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
