Today Reminder - 12 September 2013 (Day 9 - Victories)

A reminder for today
"And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.” (1 Chronicles 28:9)

How are you my dear friend? What was your week like? I am thinking about you today and all that you might be facing or have faced or yet to face and these words of David to his son Solomon just lifted out of the Word of God. I know now that I have to remind you that you must worship God completely and seek Him so that you can know Him intimately.

My dear friend, on our victory journey this week we started with the reminder that we must be strong and courageous and then we needed to seek God with all our heart and soul so that we can be good gatekeepers of our thoughts. To continue our journey it is clear that we must have an intimate relationship with the Lord and David points out three very important things:

One: Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. David goes on to remind us that the Lord sees every heart and knows every thought. David says that we must worship God with our whole heart and willing mind. That willing mind makes it clear that we must condition our thoughts and our mind to worship God all the time. It is a willing mind that chooses good over evil and nice words over bad words. It is our willing minds that make us look at people without judgement and keeps us from self-idolizing. It is our willing minds that put God first at all costs.

Two: Learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. It is so important that we study the Word of God and get to know God more intimately. We need to make time in every day and in every moment to be with God and to hear His voice. A closer and more intimate relationship with God will make our other relationships stronger and better and we will know which relationships are good for us and which ones we should avoid.

Three: If you seek him, you will find him. Jesus mentions this in His teachings in Matthew 7 - "Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Come my friend and let us seek the Lord our God in every place we find ourselves and in every day. From the early rays of the sun that breaks through the darkness to the late hours of the day when all is quiet and asleep. Let us seek Him in our own lives and in the lives of everyone we meet. Let us seek the Lord with a willing mind as we learn to know Him intimately.

I pray that these words of David will be engraved in your heart as we take on today, in the name of Jesus.

“When we are born into God’s family through our faith in Jesus, God gives us the capacity or capability to live as his children.” – Pedro Okoro

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
