Today Reminder – 18 July 2014 (Day 14 – War)

A reminder for today
The LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are weighed down. The LORD loves the godly. (Psalm 146:8)

I guess in war there is always a level of greed and selfishness that causes it. When we look at our own personal battles we are sometimes blinded by greed and selfishness as we seek only our own happiness.

So today I have an image of a blind man carrying a heavy bag. He stands at the end of the curve trying to cross a busy road. Every time he tries to take a step, a car comes speeding down the road blowing its horn to warn the blind man not to move. After a while he starts to get impatient and gets bolder with his attempts. So as a car comes speeding down again, he takes a step. The angry driver slams on the breaks and jumps on the horn as he swerves into another lane to pass the blind man. For a moment the blind man just stood there not knowing to carry on or to go back. Just as he wants to take another step he hears the loud roar of truck coming down the road. He freezes as he stood there unsure if the truck is in the lane that he was standing in. Afraid and shivering he just stayed where he was waiting for the truck. Instead of slamming on his horn, the truck slowed down and seemed to come to a standstill. The blind man could hear a large number of horns as angry drivers shouted at the truck driver.

Suddenly the driver of the truck jumped out of the truck and came walking towards the blind man. For a moment the blind man though that the angry truck driver surely is on his way to shout at the blind man, but as he got closer he could sense that there were no anger in this man. The truck driver walked up to the blind man and greeted him politely after which he said “Sir, you can cross with now worries, because I blocked the entire street”.

Sometimes we are this blind man standing at the side of a busy road. Instead of jumping into the oncoming traffic, we should look to the Lord, because He will open the eyes of the blind and He will lift those that is weighted down. To me this means that even when the enemy blind us with lies and deceit, the Lord will open our eyes and stop traffic for us as He helps us carry our loads.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
