Today Reminder – 04 January 2016

A reminder for today
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first. (1 John 4:18-19)

Every year we start with new ideas and a new drive to take on the year and make a number of changes. People go as far as to create a list of New Year resolutions. We kick of the year with force and many of us get to a point where just fall back to our old habits and we forget our resolutions we started with. A new beginning is a great thing and very exciting at first but it can get the better of you in time. Why do we fail? We fail because of fear. Fear is what we have if we start to think we will never make it. Say for example you decided to lose weight this year and you start of the year with a very strict diet. In time temptation will get the better of you and you start to give in to the wrong foods that will cause you to gain weight instead of losing weight. This is the beginning of fear, you start to fall back into you habits and the fear that you will not succeed causes you to give up and stop trying.

My dear friend, God did not create you with a Spirit of fear. He created you with a fighting Spirit. You were not made to give up, you were made to succeed. Jesus gave His life for you because He believes in you. If you give up so easily it is because you have not fully experienced His perfect love.

So today I want to remind you that there will be difficult times and there will be huge challenges and you will feel that you want to give up. In that moment remember these words: Jesus never gives up on you so why should you give up on you. Stand up and try again. It is in determination that we succeed. You are a fighter not a quitter.

Lord I pray that you will reveal your love to us so that we can experience it fully and never fear – ever.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
