Today Reminder – 16 January 2017

A reminder for today
May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. (2 Thessalonians 1:2)

How was your weekend, my friend? I do hope you are well rested for the week ahead. Friday I took a moment to remind you who God really is and that we do not forget that when we pray. Prayer is much needed and so much more in today’s life. As your light shines in this dark world remember that the Lord is the light of the world and His light can never be dimmed. His light is in us and instead of holding it down we should shine it out as a beacon of hope to those in search of life. So we now know that God is just beyond our understanding, but what we must also remember is that this God gave His Only Son for our sins. This remarkable act of love displays that God loves us so much and Jesus also confirmed that He will always answer our prayers.

But how does that work? God is our Father and just like earthly fathers He filters our requests. Sometimes we ask something that will destroy us and keep us from salvation and sometimes we ask something and God’s plan is much bigger. Sometimes we ask for something, but we are not ready for it and sometimes we ask at the exact time and God answers immediately. It is almost like daughter asking her mother for a wedding dress when she is nine years old. The mother does not necessarily say no, but this is not the right time. She must be older for that.

God knows what we need and He knows when we need it. What we must do is remain faithful in prayer and trust God for the right thing at the right time according to His master plan.

Lord, help us to feel free to ask you for anything and that we will listen and trust you for giving us what we need at the right time so that it will glorify your name. Be with us as we put in your armour and guide us through this day. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
