A reminder for
today
And since we have
a great High Priest who rules over God's house, let us go right into the
presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty
consciences have been sprinkled with Christ's blood to make us clean, and our
bodies have been washed with pure water. (Hebrews 10:21-22)
Whom do you trust? Where do you place your trust? It is
funny, but circumstances can destroy trust and trust is something that is in
some instances very hard to earn. Crime and corruption in our country has
merely destroyed trust in our fellow citizens. We close up and we just stop trusting
people. However, what about your trust in tomorrow? What do you trust that
tomorrow will be ok? Some people have a large savings account that they believe
will help them, other people trust their possessions and think that wealth will
take them through tomorrow. So many people think that their future is safe in
their own hands, yet we know that anything can happen and we do not have
control over all. So why would you trust your worldly possessions to keep you
from despair. Where did those things that we value so much come from? You see,
God gave us life. Then He blessed us with talents and gifts like sight and intelligence
so that we are able to get a job. Then He blessed us with an income so that we
can live. Nothing that we are is because we are so cool. We did not make ourselves,
and we surely did not buy our talents. So all that we are is because God gave
it to us. Therefore, if God gave us so much, why do we need to place our trust in
anything other than Him? Why do we think we alone can foresee all that awaits
us in the future?
I have said it before and I do not care to say it again. My trust
is in Jesus Christ. He is, He was, and He will always be. If He has taken care
of me for so long therefore, He will surely do it forever. So, in other words
nothing that I have is in fact mine, because I received it out of His gracious
hand. Then why am I so reluctant to help other? It is, because my trust is not
in the right place. Now, come with me and let us place our trust completely in
the Lord and let us help those in need. Do not let the enemy confuse you and
keep you from the blessing of blessing someone else. This world is temporary and
soon it will all be gone. What then? Will you stand before God in fear of a
life wasted or will you stand in amazement with a life lived for His glory and
enter into heaven? Where is your trust? Mine is in Jesus Christ and I will not waste
another moment listening to the lies of a fallen enemy.
Lord, in you I place all my trust and all my fears and I pray
that you will heal our lands and show your glory as we unite in prayer. To you
we give all the praise and all the glory. Let us live for you alone. In Jesus
name.
Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
