Today Reminder – 11 April 2017

A reminder for today
So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. (Hebrews 4:14-16)

So, we find ourselves smack bang in Tuesday and the week is well on its way. Business as usual, because the enemy is hard at work to make us fall and fail. Breakthrough! Now there is a word we should look at. It basically means a sudden, dramatic, and important discovery or development or an instance of achieving success in a particular sphere or activity. My verses today are focussed on breakthrough. We need to break through the picture the world lets us see and see the picture that God wants us to see. You see every day we are challenged and when the enemy see that they are getting to you, even if it is only a little bit, they will intensify the attack to break you. Now the world wants you to see a picture of despair and hopelessness so that you will come to a point where you question. The world wants you to see how the lost always seems to free and happy and they just do what they want. They will make sin look good so that you will be tempted. They will even say that you must try everything and hold on to the best things. The enemy is not interested in them, because why, they are already lost so why make them suffer.

Now, the picture that you have that replaces all these corrupted views is the picture of a High Priest, Jesus the Son of God, which understands our weaknesses, because He faced the same tests. He did not sin, so we can come boldly to the throne of God where we will find true freedom and peace by His grace and mercy. When we have the picture of God we have His love and we have a new type of hope, because our hope is not build on the temporary, it is build on forever. Our hope is in Jesus Christ and our picture consists of His promise of a life in eternity.

Therefore, the enemy can make this world look as great as possible, but nothing can compare to the world that awaits us. My challenges can try and consume me, but I can enter the throne of God and my strength will come from Him. The enemy can try and break me, but in me is the Holy Spirit and He breaks for no one. All of this will end and when that happens, I want to be the one that stood firmly in my faith. Now let us free ourselves from the world and see only Jesus. He is the light, the way and the only living God. He is our breakthrough. So, to the enemy, do your worst, because your destination is hell and my destination is a life in eternity with my God.

Lord, we look at the wind and the rain and we hear how nature worships you. Let us unite today and worship you with hearts filled with you and eyes focused on you. Make us diamonds and let us shine with your glory. Let us wear your armour so that we will not be afraid. Give us breakthrough. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
