Today Reminder – 26 June 2017

A reminder for today
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Today is my eldest son’s birthday and the excitement is big. It is one of those mornings when we get up all by ourselves and we can’t wait to get to school. It is a beautiful thing to see that and to watch the smile that is just constant all the time. This weekend I watched “The Passion of the Christ” again and I guess mostly, because we realise that the end times are here and there is a time of tribulation awaiting us. I had to see it, because I needed to remember what Jesus did.

You see to accept Jesus and to ask for His forgiveness is like having your birthday. You know it is special and you know you are special when you see what Jesus did on that cross. Suddenly you are filled with excitement, because you know that the person you were is not the person you are now. It is as if you got older and wiser at once. Then you realise that you are not able to do all this on your own and the greatest part is revealed when you know that Jesus will be with you every step of the way.

He will guide you and strengthen you and He will forgive you when you make another mistake. Then there is the gift of the Holy Spirit that lives in you and makes you stronger. Suddenly you know that what you have is far greater than anything you have ever had and the urge to share this amazing gift becomes overwhelming.

My dear friend, in Jesus we have the greatest gift any person can ever have. We have life and we have freedom and we are forgiven. We are made new by the blood that He shed through pain and suffering until He said, “It is done”. There is none like Jesus and I am nothing without Him.

Lord, we thank you for all that you do for us each and every day. Thank you for taking away our sins and cleansing us from unrighteousness. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
