Today Reminder – 20 June 2017

A reminder for today

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.  (2 Peter 2:9-10)

I would suggest that you read the whole chapter of 2 Peter 2, for I am taking only a fragment of the entire message. But let us look at what Peter wrote here. Peter is talking about false prophets and their teachings. He mentions the arrogance of people and their ignorance towards God. I have argued with a few atheists and I must say that some of the things they say send chills down your body. But how much worse is a prophet that teaches falsely for their own gain to the extend they see themselves as God. We know that in our time there are many. We see them in their expensive cars and big houses doing it in the name of Jesus. Peter says that they will be destroyed like animals.

Peter reminds us of what God did in the time of Noah and Sodom and Gomorra. God despises arrogance and people who scoff at Him and He especially does not like people who follow their own twisted sexual desires. But peter tells us that God saved Noah and his family and Lot out of Sodom, because they were righteous men. You see the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials and He will punish the wicked. The enemy has been busy with me the last two weeks. Ever since the accident I started to feel sick and now I am not well at all. I know the enemy is trying to silence me. This is what he does. He will try anything to hurt us and break us, but I will not be silenced for I know God will pull me out of these trials. I know that the God we worship is a great God and with Him I can do anything. I am not afraid of what the enemy can do, because I know that compared to God, the enemy is nothing. I know satan lost the battle and that Jesus took all my sin on Him. I know that death has lost its sting and that I am saved by His grace, just as you are.

God knows how to rescue us, my friend, never doubt that – ever.

Lord, I come to you this morning with all our struggles and pain. I ask that you take this burden from us and give us the strength to stand again and to fight against the attacks of the enemy. Lead us by your voice and let us bring glory to you in all that we do. We love you, Lord and we need you. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
