Today Reminder - 21 November 2012 (I am who I am)

A reminder for today
God replied to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you." (Exodus 3:14)

God can only be God:

Wow, I just can’t help writing to you about this powerful statement made by God to Moses. When Moses asked God whom he must say send him to them, God replied “I am, who I am”.

God is God and there is no other. Just so that we remember who we serve: When Moses talked to God at the burning bush, he asked Him His name. God replied merely, "I am that I am," referring to His self-existence, the Being of beings, eternal and unchangeable. (Rich Deem)

God is the personal being who walked and talked with Adam and Eve, the first human beings, in the Garden of Eden. God is also Saviour of mankind, coming to Earth in the person of Jesus of Nazareth to provide the ultimate example of holiness and the ultimate sacrifice for humanity's evilness, in order to restore our personal relationship with Him.

Who is God?
According to Christianity, God is the self-existent One, having no need of being created, since He has existed forever and is the cause of all things, including the dimension of time, to which He is not subject. Likewise, God is not subject to the physical creation, but is spiritual in nature, residing in the spiritual dimensions of heaven. God's power over the physical creation is absolute, such that He can manipulate matter, energy, space, and time at will. For this reason, God is said to be all powerful—able to accomplish any possible task He wills to do. Along with being all powerful, God is also all knowing—having knowledge of all things that are possible to be known, including the entire history of the universe—past, present, and future. Because God is all powerful (omnipotent) and all knowing (omniscient), He is also able to be present at all places at all times (omnipresent). God is also all loving—according to the Bible, "God is love" (1 John 4:16). The love of God prompted Him to create human beings in His image, in order to share His love with us. The Christian scriptures say that we can fulfil the entire law of God by loving Him and loving our fellow human beings (Matthew 22:37-40). God is absolutely holy—without any moral or character defect. In fact, the Bible says that God is incapable of doing any evil, despite being all powerful. God is unchangeable. In other words, He does not change any of His attributes or character at any time. Despite humanity's tendency to change its definition of morality, God's moral character does not evolve with the times, but remains constant.

Where is God?
The Bible says that God cannot be contained within the universe (1 Kings 8:27). In addition, the Bible says that God fills both heaven and earth (Jeremiah 23:24), which is a Hebrew idiom to describe the entire universe. So, God is both transcendent and immanent simultaneously. God's normal abode is in heaven, which is not located within the physical universe. According to the Bible heaven seems to operate under different physical laws, with the laws of thermodynamics seeming to be absent. So, the question "Where is God?" is not one that can be answered with the knowledge we possess. (Extract from Rich Deem)

My dear friend, the God we serve is much greater than we think. I pray that your spirit will be lifted and that your walk will be full of joy and that your faith will be unbreakable, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 20 November 2012 (Yes you)

A reminder for today
But Moses protested to God, "Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?" (Exodus 3:11)

Yes you!

Who am I… Do you find that we are easy to question or rather quick to question? When a task is laid on us out of our comfort zone, we question it. When we have to do something we do not like, we question it. When our job requires us to do something we do not like, we question it.

God brings so many things over our path and the way we look at these things will determine the outcome. We can stand and question it, or we can face it and do it. We could either query why we have to do it or we can see the opportunity to glorify God through it and do it passionately even if we do not like it. Your attitude towards it could affect those around you, and your attitude towards the task at hand will change the way you do it. If we complain about it and we do not really want to do it, we will not do it right. But if you change your attitude, trust God and do it with a positive mind set you will be great at it.

I love God’s answer to Moses in verse 12:  God answered, "I will be with you” Every time you are faced with difficulty and you fear what lies ahead, remember God is with you. Pharaoh did not let the Israelites leave on Moses’s first request, no he had to go through a number of requests before Pharaoh let them go and even then Pharaoh chased after them to destroy them. It may not work the first time, or the first hundred times, but in our perseverance and in our faith we will succeed and we will overcome each and every obstacle. It is in those quiet victories that we shine with God’s glory.

My dear friend, I pray that God will carry you through your difficult tasks and lead you patiently to success and that you will remain faithful every day, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 19 November 2012 (Help)

A reminder for today
"An Egyptian rescued us from the shepherds," they answered. "And then he drew water for us and watered our flocks." (Exodus 2:19)

A helping hand:

Have you ever been in a situation where you are either over burdened with work or in a corner not knowing which direction to take? Have you ever felt that a little help will really be great right now?

I believe that one of the greatest rewards is to help and to see the gratitude on the other person’s face, yet in today’s fast paced and non-stop world people do not stop to help anymore. I most cases you are left alone to struggle and find your own direction and help.

My dear friend, let us break the way of the world and let’s stop to help. Whether it is giving advice or assistance at work or helping some stranger with directions or picking up something that is dropped or even saying hallo when you are in a queue.  Let us take the light of Jesus to the world around us, so that people can see the true meaning of being a Christian – a friend of Jesus.

I pray that the Lord will guide your heart in helping someone today, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 16 November 2012 (Water)

A reminder for today
Later, when the boy was older, his mother brought him back to Pharaoh's daughter, who adopted him as her own son. The princess named him Moses, for she explained, "I lifted him out of the water." (Exodus 2:10)

Out of the water and victory over sin:

She saw that he was a special baby and kept him hidden for three months. I believe in the eyes of the Lord each and every one of us is seen as a special baby. Just like Moses, God has a plan for each one of us, but let us talk about being lifted from the water.

I have this image of being baptised and lifted from the water. We know that Moses was hidden in the water when Pharaoh’s daughter saw him and she lifted him from the water, taking him from being persecuted to being saved. I see that being lifted from the water and acknowledging Jesus as our saviour we are taken from persecution to a life that is saved.

I see that it is Jesus that is the one who lifts you up from the water today as He pulls you out of the mud and mire into His arms of warmth and safety. I see His warm smile as it calms you down and peace and love fills your entire body. I see how He reunites you with a familiar face that supports you and helps you as you grow stronger every day. I see us back in His presence, in His palace free from the burdens of this world and victorious over all that we face. I see God’s glory in our lives as we glorify His name.

My dear friend, I pray that you will be lifted from whatever keeps you from the love of Jesus and from becoming who God intended you to be. I pray that the chains of fear is broken and that you will soar with eagles as you are lifted from the hold that you are in. I pray that you will have a life filled with blessings and that you will live a life that will lift other from the water and into the Lord’s arms, in Jesus name.

God has been so good to us in the last week through all that we faced and through all the obstacles that lied in our path. I can truly testify that the enemy has no power over us and that in His mercy and grace we are strengthened so that nothing will break our spirit, but instead our spirit will soar to proclaim His great love.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 15 November 2012 (Blessing)

A reminder for today
Then Joseph brought in his father, Jacob, and presented him to Pharaoh. And Jacob blessed Pharaoh. (Genesis 47:7)

Blessed – being a blessing is a blessing.

It is somewhat weird how we are reluctant to bless people. In that sense I mean, do you bless those you meet or those you know or even those you love? Are we scared or are we selfish?

In this day that we live it has become so important to boost people and to lift people’s spirits. It is so needed to care and love and help and to be there when people are in need or when they need an ear to hear or a quiet blessing. I believe that blessings can be done in so many ways. We can bless with a gift, a word or even a smile. Yes a warm smile and a nice word can go a long way.

Jacob went to a foreign land and into a foreign home and the first thing he did is a blessing. He blessed Pharaoh and again when they left.

My dear friend, come with me today and let us be a double blessing to those around us. I pray that the Lord will bless you so that you can be a blessing to those you meet and that your blessing will be carried forward and forward so that it will form a chain of blessings all over your area, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
