Today Reminder – 17 February 2017

A reminder for today
If we die with him, we will also live with him. If we endure hardship, we will reign with him. If we deny him, he will deny us. If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is. (2 Timothy 2:11-13)

It Friday – finally. This was a long week. Lots of stuff in all areas that took its toll. How are you, my friend? I look forward to the weekend and especially church on Sunday. I love my time with Jesus and obviously, I love time with the family. My sister is visiting us over the weekend and we look forward to see her and chat a little. Have you any plans for the weekend? Take it easy. Get some rest and spend a little more time in bed. To be a little lazy can also be good sometimes. Rejuvenate that spirit and reload the energy for the week ahead.

The world is a weird place and people are so funny. There are so many of us caught up in our own little world that we are blinded by what really happens. I am reading all the comments and criticism over Donald Trump and his administration. He is a Christian just like you and me and yet the Christians are the ones criticizing him. Does the Lord not teach us to pray for our fellow Christians so that they will follow the voice of God? Does the Lord not teach us to pray for our leaders? You guys should take a look at our leader her in South Africa and what he says. Yet we pray for him so that he will do the right thing. So when you start to look at all this and you see the corruption and the violence and the hate crimes, you think how could these people remain positive. How do they continue to stand? How much more can they take? The problem is that the world judges someone on what they hear and in most cases, what they hear in the news. You cannot judge your neighbour on the car he drives because you do not know his circumstances. We are blinded by our own pride and the worst thing is that we do not want another to succeed. We are jealous and greedy and we would lie for our own benefit even if it means our words can destroy another.

So what am I saying to you today. You are a Christian and you are the mirror that reflects the Lord our God to the outside world. You are better than this. You bigger than the tiny self-centred people that likes their own voices so much. You are more than just human. Therefore, stop fighting the wrong enemy. The person is not the enemy, the devil that deceives this person is the enemy and how do you defeat that enemy, by standing on your knees and pray. Do not become part of the crowd but be the light that the crowd follows. Do not allow the negativity of this dark world to influence your true nature, because your true nature is in Jesus Christ and when He was here He did not turn people away on what they were and what they did not did He look at their race. To Him we are all part of His creation and this means He died for all of us. Yes, even you.

Now, if we die with him, we will also live with him. If we endure hardship, we will reign with him. If we deny him, he will deny us. If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.

Lord, there are so many people trying to deceive us through so many different means. I pray that you will open our eyes to the lies of this world and help us to see only the good in other just as you see only the good in us. I pray that you will bless our leaders and give them wisdom and courage to do the right thing and to rule out corruption. I pray that you bless our lands and that you will heal our lands. Be with us so that we will show your heart to this world and help us to stand firm as we wear your armour and show the lies of the enemy to the world. Let us defeat him with pure hearts. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
