Today Reminder - 05 December 2012 (Covet)

A reminder for today
"You must not have any other god but me. You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea.” (Exodus 20:3-4)

Covet, want and desire:

How easily do we replace God and forget about Him? How do we let desire and greed replace contentment and create a need for something we do not need? How do we allow worldly possessions to replace God in our lives?

My dear friend, especially in this time of the year it is so important that we put God first. This whole holiday is to celebrate the birth of Christ, yet the world has changed so much that we would rather tell our kids about Santa and how he miraculously travel thousands of miles on Christmas eve to visit each and every home in world to bring gifts to us. We take the glory of the most important event in the history of Christians and we replace it with a worldly figure and we make him look so great, because he brings us gifts.

The real gift and the one thing we should bring back to this time of the year is the gift of a little baby boy born in Bethlehem, a little boy who grew up to be hated and killed, so that He can save the lives of the entire human race. Now that is a story worth telling and gift we can so easily give and this gift will last forever. I believe if we celebrate Christmas for what it truly is, people will stop to do the silly things they do over Christmas and instead of being tired we can look forward to be renewed and strengthened by His everlasting gift.

Come with me as we celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. Let’s celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our saviour and give glory to God.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

I pray that all honour and glory will go to the Lord over this festive season and that you and your family will be blessed again by the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 04 December 2012 (Great)

A reminder for today
On the morning of the third day, thunder roared and lightning flashed, and a dense cloud came down on the mountain. There was a long, loud blast from a ram's horn, and all the people trembled. Moses led them out from the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. All of Mount Sinai was covered with smoke because the LORD had descended on it in the form of fire. The smoke billowed into the sky like smoke from a brick kiln, and the whole mountain shook violently. As the blast of the ram's horn grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God thundered His reply. (Exodus 19:16-19)

How great is our God:

I am trying to imagine this picture of God appearing on the mountain to the people of Israel and I don’t think I am even close. God is huge! He is much bigger than we can possibly imagine.

My dear friend, this is the God we worship, the one and only living God - the creator of heaven and earth. He wants you to remember this today. He is greater than anything you may ever encounter on your journey and He is always consistently the same. He has no favourites and therefore you are just as important to Him as anyone else on earth.

This is the God that send His only son to die for your sins and to set you free. Come with me today as we rejoice in the Lord and lift His name on high for He is at work in our lives preparing us for the great things yet to come.

I pray that you will see how great God is in your life and in the lives of those around you, in Jesus name.

And I quote again: “Don’t tell God how great your problems are, but tell your problems how great your God is.”

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 03 December 2012 (Overburden)

A reminder for today
"This is not good!" Moses' father-in-law exclaimed. "You're going to wear yourself out—and the people, too. This job is too heavy a burden for you to handle all by yourself. (Exodus 18:17-18)

Overworked and still too much to do:

It is Christmas time! A time to rejoice! It is also a time where the year comes to an end and we are tired after a long year and desperately in need of some time off. Jethro came so see his son-in-law, Moses, and after hearing all about God’s wonders he saw how Moses were burdened by all the problems of the Israelite people. God had send Jethro to Moses, because God knew that Moses was overburdened and through Jethro He gave Moses advice.

Are we not a lot like Moses? Do we take on more and more work and overburden ourselves? Do we carry a heavy load because we are reluctant to ask for help?

My dear friend, take advice from Jethro today and do not allow yourself to be overburdened by work. Ask for help and share your burden, because this way you will not only have a lighter load but you will have someone to share your struggles with and to uplift your spirit. Say something when you see that the load you carry are getting too heavy. With work there is always great responsibility and with a lighter load you will be ten times more effective.

I pray that the Lord will help you when your load gets too heavy and that He will give you the courage to ask for help and  bless you so that the work you have left are done with perfection, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 30 November 2012 (Friends)

A reminder for today
Moses' arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset. (Exodus 17:12)

A helping hand:

As long as Moses kept his hands in the air the army of Joshua defeated the army of the Amalek. Moses obviously became tired so Aaron and Hur stood by his side to help him.

In life we sometimes face a situation where we have to keep on going even when we become too tired. It is in these difficult times when we need a helping hand. Sometimes we need a hand and sometimes we can give a hand. Whatever the case is, it is God who sees our need and responds by sending someone or sending you.

My dear friend, God will need you from time to time to hold up the hands of your friends so that they can overcome the problems they face in their lives and be victorious. God will give you the wisdom and strength to hold them up and support them.

I pray that you will hear the Lord’s voice when He needs you to support someone and to be there in difficult times. I pray that you will be strong and that you will follow God’s direction in leading your friend to victory, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 29 November 2012 (With me)

A reminder for today
Moses named the place Massah (which means "test") and Meribah (which means "arguing") because the people of Israel argued with Moses and tested the LORD by saying, "Is the LORD here with us or not?” (Exodus 17:7)

The Lord is with you:

As soon as difficulty arrived in the Israelite camp the people complained to Moses and kept on telling him how terrible things were. It is interesting that they saw so many miracles and yet they kept on questioning the Lord.

My dear friend, the Lord wants me to confirm to you that He is with you. He is there right by your side taking each step you take with you. He wants you to remain confident and to keep your head high and be patient for His glory will be seen in your life. Don’t give and don’t let the troubles of life cloud your judgement and make you question God. He is and was and will always be.

I pray that the Lord will confirm His presence in your life and that He will boost your confidence and give you strength to remain patient, in Jesus name.

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
