Today Reminder – 22 September 2015 (Day 16 – Dear Lord)

A reminder for today

Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom. (Ecclesiastes 9:10)

So today I find myself facing a new storm. Work and work related stress is making each day a day filled with many challenges. There are many changes happening in our company and this on its own is a huge storm on the horizon. Where do we go when we stand at a cross road?

So today I pray for answers. I pray that the Lord will guide us through tough decisions and lead us onto the path that He wants us to be on. I pray that the Lord will reveal His plans to us and set us onto our journeys even though we fear the path. I pray that the Lord will keep us standing no matter the difficulties that await us. I pray that we will find our refuge and peace in the Lord and that we will succeed even though the odds are against us.

Today Reminder – 21 September 2015 (Day 16 - Dear Lord)

A reminder for today

"Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.” (Matthew 7:1)

Judging other is something that comes so easily for us. This weekend I made exactly that mistake. You see when I got home on Saturday my neighbour had a lot of people over and was starting a huge party. I was looking on from the outside and made up my mind that this was there just to annoy me and I do not like noise. So in spite of trying to understand I judged immediately. The next day I decided that I will not stand for this so I confronted my neighbour only to find out that it was his birthday and a once off celebration plus he tried to warn the people that there will be noise and because I work late and leave early, he could not tell me in advance.

So I judged incorrectly. But how many of us make the same mistake every day. We judge without trying to understand or accept or forgive. It made me think how I was judged by other and maybe still is and how people judged a friend of mine by accepting their own ideas and not realising that there are always two sides to everything.  I realised that the past year has changed me in a way and made me very short-tempered. I am quick to react and very sensitive to what people say and do. I cannot accept the bullying of someone by people with just as many flaws and I have a huge problem when people judge, so why do I do it then? 

I had to dig deep and realise that I need to make a few changes in me. Change always begins with one self.

So today I pray that the Lord will guide our hearts and free us from judgement and from judging other. I pray that the Lord will guide us in forgiving and letting go of the things that keeps us from fully living in His blessings.

Today Reminder – 19 September 2015 (Day 15 – Dear Lord)

A reminder for today

Dear Lord, how do we stand up again when we have fallen? How do we walk again when our feet are knocked out from under us? How do we pick a broken vessel up and restore the brokenness? How do we open and heal a broken heart? How do we wipe away the endless tears of heartache and sorrow?

How do we replace a negative mind with a positive heart and how do we go on when we can’t see the end anymore? How do we do it, Lord?

"Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going." 

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

"I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am.”  (John 14)

Today Reminder – 18 September 2015 (Day 14 – Dear Lord)

A reminder for today

Dear Lord, today we ask for a calm and focussed spirit that will make us determined through each and every challenge that this day may have and bring. I pray for wisdom in each challenge so that we will make the correct choices and follow the right path.

I pray for the poor and needy and I ask that you will bring a time of abundance into their lives so that they can discover the vast expanse of your love and mercy. I pray for love, Lord, and I ask that we will love completely and fully and that we will accept and be contempt with our lives and our blessings that we receive each day. I pray that we will use our talents and invest in your kingdom with them. I pray that we will glorify you in all that we do so that we will become more like you Lord.

I pray for all the wonderful people that is reading your blog today and I ask that you will bless them and keep them and hold them through this day. I pray that they will see your wonder and feel your love as this day blooms into a day filled with you. And as they find their way home today I ask that you will go with them and keep them safe. I pray that you will bless their sleep and give them a wonderful rest so that tomorrow will be a day where you will be clearer to them than the star filled skies over Africa.
