A
reminder for today
"Have
you ever commanded the morning to appear and caused the dawn to rise in the
east? Have you made daylight spread to the ends of the earth, to bring an end
to the night's wickedness? As the light approaches, the earth takes shape like
clay pressed beneath a seal; it is robed in brilliant colours. The light disturbs the wicked and stops the arm that is raised in violence.” (Job 38:12-15)
As each new day breaks the darkness and brings light to
the world, we too are called to bring the light into a dark world. God speaks
to Job and in this God asks the question - Have
you ever commanded the morning to appear and caused the dawn to rise in the
east? As I read this I am just in awe for a moment as I realise I cannot
command the dawn to rise nor can I make daylight spread to the ends of the
earth. God does that each day. God created all of this by His words.
A new horizon in our lives should be the understanding
that God is in control and He seeks only good things for us. To understand that
each day God blesses us with life and health and all our worldly needs. Yet some
things we take for granted, like daylight or air or health or food or friends
or family or work etc.
I find that we live each day forgetting that even the
little basic things come from God and that we should be grateful for each
blessing even the ones that is not so clear. God wants us to remember this as
we approach our new horizons in 2014 – He is in control and as He commands the
morning to appear and spreads light to ends of the earth, He is also there to
help us and uplift us. As each new day begins, God will let the light guide us
on our journey and direct us across our new horizons.
The light of Jesus will disturb those who are against us
and stop them in their evil ways. Come my dear friend and let us allow God to
take control in our lives and we humbly give Him our hearts. He will let the
sun rise on our lives as we start our journey into 2014. Jesus is the way and
the only way – let this be our message each day wherever we go.
Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus
Cheers
